Finley is 8 months old now and I could not be happier with my decision to get a Boykin. She's starting to settle down and is a great all-around dog. Can't wait to get her in the dove field this fall.

During a stint wearing the 'cone of shame'... always one paw hanging off the dogbed while being carried up the stairs.

I usually walk my dogs at the beach at least once a week. There is one beach here that you can walk for miles with them off leash. It never fails that someone that is walking buy acts like it is the most horrific thing if my 30lbs French bulldog or 16lbs Westie come within 20 feet of them or their kids. I find it quite amusing.

Yeah. I hear you. Like the folks that bring little dogs to a beach where all other dogs are off leash then complains theirs was run over :)

    Miss that place!

Lived in the Bay for 20 years, spent lots of time in the SC/Capitola area. Used to frequent La Selva Beach with the in-laws and the fur babies.

    Good times!

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
That wasn't me or my dog. I am able to answer that question truthfully, as I have staffie in my mix dog, aka "the nasty pit". CrashNBurn was having some fun I presume. I really do respect you and your advice here. I just don't understand how the question is asked of a small french bulldog. Breed ignorance based on peoples only exposure to dogs through media? The maulings are truly sad, but unfortunately they're going to get worse in this era we live in. You can't reject a dog from anywhere today. People think that their's, or their kids, or their dogs shit doesn't stink. Very entitled and ignorant to the facts we are. If you upset someone based on credible evidence and to protect the community around you, best be ready for a lawsuit. Sad to think of where we are headed.

Our dog does not like other dogs. Something we are aware of and we make sure we are in control of her at all times in public. We still take her camping and out places, leashed and with a head on a swivel. The great thing is that she loves people, but I am apprehensive around children. She's been hugged, and loved on by kids BUT can get very excited and jumpy, and could easily hurt a child, and I believe by accident. We rescued her to give her new life. I won't give up on that. But I won't ignore the tendencies of my dog, just because I love her. Her shit stinks sometimes, and I'm not immune to that.

Sorry for the rant, CrashNBurn's story struck a nerve. Obligatory pic. Here she's helping me work on my secondary steering shaft... Must have been too cold in the barn

Or a dumb person with an aggressive dog who doesn’t realize it. Had a lady at the dog park before without a clue! Had to tell her to figure it out or I would figure it out for her! :annoyed:

And I love all dogs! But I love MY dogs more! :duel:
