Well I did just happen to get a new golden retriever, but it’s on the other, better coast of the country. :D

But if you want info to the breeder I can supply it.

    This is Margo!

I’m sorry to see your unwillingness to look beyond the sensational news items of a fractional amount of incidents(horrendous as they may be), and see the greater good of a group of dogs.

I’ve had a few friends who have had that breed before and have had issues with their temperament and ended up giving them up because they didn’t trust the dog around them or their kids.

It’s a breed I want nothing to do with and expect those who do own them to keep them leashed or fenced.

For that I’d say it’s the way they’re raised. I have friends with pit bulls and tons of other dogs and the scariest are the little shitty chihuahua shit dogs. I know. I have two of those shits. Those things you can’t train. Something isn’t connected in those little heads

I can’t stand chihuahua’s. Neighbors had them and I couldn’t take much of them. If and when I get a dog I’d like to get a German shepard or Belgium Mal as a puppy and get it trained. Unfortunately, at this stage in my life I don’t have the time necessary to devote to a puppy.

After owning two chihuahuas I can’t stand them either. But I cant kill them(I mean I can...they’re just small bumps in the driveway) since they’re family kinda. You really grow to love dogs no matter what you get.

Unless it’s your neighbors dog and it’s loud, then buy one of those bark box things.

I’ve had family do the same.
Temperament issues only appeared when their needs were’nt met.
It’s really a matter of lifestyle.
Some folks don’t have the time to devote the required attention,
And some introduce bad habits which perpetuate their villainization.
Every pit My girl and I have ever met has been super sweet, which made the decision to adopt one that much easier.
It takes a special person to raise a pit, meet their needs, and try to mold them into model (or at the very least social) canine citizens.
    Many can’t handle it.

    That’s what I think of when folks hold biases against a certain breed of Dog based off of hear- say and sensationalization;
Knowing damn well any breed can be trained to be vicious.

I don’t agree with that at all. I’ve seen fantastic dogs, cats, horses, etc and I’ve also seen the polar opposite in them regardless of owners. Some animals are just assholes. Sure a bad owner contributes to the bad behavior but the best owner isn’t going to make the best dog.

I don’t see a good future for this thread...

We all love our animals. We all made our choices on why we chose our animals. Let’s not go down the road of denigrating those that have chosen something other than “your”, personal choice. I’m not saying it’s happened yet, but we’re almost there.

OP wants info, I’ve tried to help in the direction I know how. I can only hope that they adopt, no matter the breed.

If you know which breed you want , you can usually find a local rescue specific to that breed. sometimes they will have a list of reputable breeders to help steer you clear of puppy Mills.
