Brought my truck in this morning (18 TRD Pro) and just got a call that they do not have the part needed to complete the fix. It is a "VIN specific" part according to the guy that just called me and it will take 3-5 days to get in. I'm guessing I am not going to be getting the hoodie cover that some of you guys have been getting.

If it’s the TSS in the grille fix, that’s total bs. I can take my grille off, take it apart, remove the sensor, paint, & reinstall in way less than that lol

Currently at the dealer getting the recall taken care of along with my 20k service. Service tech said that they will need to apply a seal around the sensor to prevent water or condensation buildup.

Is the part just the rubber sealer? I was told to call ahead and make sure the part was in stock before making appointment.

Post a pic of the seal when complete please, I'm curious to see how many different ways it can be done.

Picked up my new quicksand 2019 TRD Off-Road. I made them do the recall before I took the truck. took about an hour with the update and test drive.

I saw the work order for mine. The part is called a "cushion," for whatever that is worth.

I was told it would take approx 3-4 hours. This is total BS. What they are telling you is it may take a tech a while to get to your truck and then they have to run diagnostics, complete the repair and test drive. I was at my dealer at 1:10pm and was notified my truck was ready at 2:30pm. I saw the tech (dash cam) pull it into a stall, and immediately grab a laptop. He left the key on for about 15 minutes during which time he walked away from the truck (could see him walk past the front of the truck several times without interacting with it). He returned and quickly the dash cam turned off (probably diagnostics/reprogramming completed). The truck was pulled out of the stall and ready about 15 minutes later (guessing he did the under the hood work during this time).

So from drop off to pick up it took a total of 1hr & 20min with a total of approximately 30 minutes hands on time.

If your paperwork doesn't specifically say they replaced the radar - they didn't. Which according to the recall they would not do unless they find the radar to be faulty. If your being told they have to order a part - it is most likely the hand size piece of black plastic (cushion/EPT sealer) that they do not have.

I got a strange question from the dealer yesterday. They called and asked who put the pro grill on my truck, me or someone else: I said it was me.

Any thoughts as to why they would ask? I’m guessing they were hoping to blame a 3rd party and deny the warranty. We’ll see what happens at my 20k service.

I have a couple of questions you could ask him.
What if someone bought a truck from the dealer already lifted, that the dealer installed the lift?
Does the sealer/cushion that gets installed really care what height the sensor is?
If the campaign is labeled Safety, can they really deny it?

Was told it would take about an hr as well. I was already in for 15k service which doesn’t consist of much of anything but was there for about two hours total.
