    Hey all,

I'm compiling a "wish list" of things I'll be adding to the Taco, and when I got to the armor portion of what I'm looking for, I was unsure of what brands are better for good, quality skid plates. I haven't done too much off road yet, but I'm big into camping in the forest areas, as well as getting into some trail driving. I live in Oregon, so most of my trails will include broken trees, with the occasional rocky areas.

Any suggestions on plates would be great! I'm looking for something with a decent price tag, but not horrible quality, and a brand that backs their product.

    Thanks!

This is the exact setup I'm going to have. I have the trd pro skid plate, but I'll be adding the RCI skid plates after I do the exhaust mod so it doesn't hang down so low.

I have RCI steel skids and have been happy with them thus far. Don't forget to get your exhaust reroute done prior to getting skids, so you can get skids that are flush from front to back with no decreased in ground clearance.

@Mobtown Offroad - watch for their sales like last year’s taxday and black Friday sales. They’re worth it!

If RCI weren't local Mobtown would be great too

I like my RCI differential skid and Mobtown skids too. Definitely do the reroute first!

I went with the RCI aluminum both front and a-arm thinking about getting it coated in Line-x maybe Red8FB29F58-0AB6-40E2-871F-DB596D1C73E8.jpg

BAMF! If you want to actually rely on your bash plate. It’s the best and your truck will break before your plate does.

I guess the nest question I have would be:

has anyone ever seen the need for a full armor kit? or is the front enough for the majority of potential damage? I'm semi tempted to get the Full skid package that RCI offers, but if anyone has feedback for a full vs. front only, I'm all ears.

From the sounds of it you won't need full skid protection. People who do need it, know they need it. Of course people have seen the need. Weird question  I also reccomend RCI. Great armor and you don't have to wait until Xmas to get them made.
