Is it possible to get a lux meter measurement so we can determine how bright these actually are? I had the XB LED fogs and they only seemed to appear brighter due to the whiter color but the lux reading was actually very low (close to stock) as proven by crashnburn80's studies which can be easily found on TW. Since these are made by the same company I think many of us would like to see actual output readings before pulling the trigger. Don't get me wrong, they do look really amazing and I am very interested however I am sure I am not the only one who is after performance more than looks especially at that price tag.

It’s on my to-do list I just haven’t had time.
I’ll try and do it tonight. I can compare a stock VS OEmassive VS my LED retrofit VS Morimoto XB

Once I get this one. I will attempt to modify the original headlight assembly and retrofit a 2009 Lexus IS HID adaptive light assembly into it. This should be a fun project. Wouldn't it be nice if your Taco headlights turn with your steering wheel?

Did these come pre aimed or you have to aim these when you install it?

I was thinking $1,200 was steep but manageable for a superior light until I read that these aren’t serviceable by the customer. Total miss.

Thanks for the quick review. They do look nice, otherwise!

I am not making my own headlights. But I will be modifying them

Good luck! Not sure how much space is on the interior and if it can fit an adaptive light (motor +projector). we will find out
They do not come pre-aimed (at least in my case). It was close but required fine tuning.

I think that's the goal for Morimoto; the end user should not have to change/service anything. With every internal light being LED it doesn't need to be messed with. Just take a look at other LED lights; Factory LED DRL board is not serviceable, OEM LED fog lights are not serviceable, mirror signal LEDS's are not serviceable etc. It's going to be the norm

That’s fine, I just don’t like the idea of spending $1,200 knowing I can’t change a bad LED bulb out on my own knowing that you can buy replacement bulbs. Seems like a simple enough solution but there’s built in repair costs for something that’s easily serviceable by the customer.

To their defense, it would be close to impossible for the end user to service the LED. It is usually tucked deep inside the projector with a chip on board.(entire projector has to be disassembled) NOT like your typical "drop in" led H9/H11/etc bulb style.

I have a ton of stuff planned to modify on these, but I have to restrain myself until production assemblies are shipping out to customers.
Swapping out projectors will be the first on my list. I know.. crazy to spend $1200 only to rip them apart.. but that's what I like to do:D

Triple Morimoto MLED. I have a set in my T4R retro and they are pretty damn impressive. Color, cutoff, and beam.

I certainly would not buy these until they can be compared to the 2020 Tacoma enclosures.
