    Hey all,

Just picked up my 3rd gen taco, SR, V6 DCSB 4x4. Owners manual states to install nothing on the hood (because of the LDA system). I would like to install a bug shield on the hood. Should be ok imo. Thoughts? Anyone have issues? Thx

Bug shield for what? My truck is almost 5 years old and I have no hood, front end issues. Believe those went away in the 90's with Bull Bars. Plus most at some point screw up the paint

The AVS Bugflector are nice looking and truly work for protecting your hood from rocks, bugs etc. I had one on my 4Runner, the hood was like new when I sold it.

So, yes this would be for bugs, but also road schmutz. I live in Syracuse so there is alot of road grime, salt and sand /gravel etc. My friend's jeep GC has paint bubbling up on hood front. 2015. Sucks.

AVS Areoskin II Hood Protector on my '19 SR with no issues. It is for rock chips on the front of the hood and for looks. I drove 8 miles over to a little village from me this morning and my windshield had bugs all over it when I got back to town. I didn't buy it to keep bugs off my windshield though so I'm fine with the Areoskin II.

I don't have a '19 w/ the fancy sensors (just a lowly '17) but i've had an AVS Bugflector II on mine for about 2 years with zero issues. Helps with the bugs a bit on the windshield and does keep the hood pretty clean. Haven't seen any issues w/ paint or anything either when I recently removed it to wax.
