Mine are wired up like you would a set of auxiliary lights in the front. I have a standard 40amp relay under the hood that sends power to the back of the truck, and it's controlled by a switch I have in the center console.

Right, so did you just run 1 wire that goes to the switch through the firewall and the other from the battery under the truck to the reverse lights?

Correct. One wire goes to the switch with 12v (always hot in my case), and then that wire goes to the trigger lead on the relay (86). Then you run a wire from the 87 terminal to the lights in the bumper.

 

where and how to do you mount the relay? do you add another fuse block?

 

Hell ya! We have a few local races, at port angles and Steven's pass. Most photographers use photo mug or whatever to sell their pics, but lots of people buy!

Honestly, at the moment my relays are just kind of hanging there next to the battery, which looks ghetto. I need to redo it. I have a 6-circuit fuse block fed straight from the battery that sends power to the relays (each relay has its own fuse).

The plan to is to order something like this soon and clean up the wires and get everything mounted nice and clean.

@rlx02 I have mine wired up so that they come on in reverse or with a switch with a diode isolating each side. If you are interested in doing something like that I can draw you up a wire diagram and send it to you.

 

ok thanks. Some day I'll do aux reverse and a 20" bar in my bumper. Didn't want 20 wires connected to the battery terminal.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I did except I tapped into the backup camera wire since it was a little more accessible and it's just a signal wire so it's not drawing any real current. I also broke out the camera wire and tapped it into a switch so I can turn the camera on at any time too.

 

That looks really clean and it's pretty cheap. I have 2 relays under my hood so far but will have at least 4 when I wire everything up (HID, LED bar, ditch lights, backup lights). I'll look into this.

Appreciate it, but I want mine to stay separate from reverse lights so I don't blind people when I'm out mall crawlin'.
