It pretty much just means that your leaf springs are worn out. You can buy a replacement leaf pack that's either stock heigh or a lift.
Bilistein is a good brand to look at.

Just be aware that the OME Dakars will provide some lift, and you may end up with more rake than you like if the front suspension is stock. After I replaced my rear end with OME Dakars and 5100s the rear end was 4 inches higher than the front.

I’ve got some $hit going on here already. I just bought this truck 2 days ago. The lift is all blocks and spacers - but it looks cool. Gives me a good reason to put a “real” lift on it.

@crusty: Are there extended travel 5100’s that you know of? I seen to remember someone telling there was, but I still haven’t seen them.

The 5100 is for use with 2"ish of lift. Sweet truck, its a shame the PO didnt do it right the first time.
Edit: If going with Dakars, get some OME nitrochargers. Their kinda meant to go together.

Truck looks good! Can't go wrong with this. What tires/wheels are you running?

I've read that the 5125's are longer. On Wheeler's it looks like there are two versions of the 5100s, and the older one is about 1/2 inch longer and the same length as the 5125s. I'm not real clear on what the difference is.

Whose front bumper is that? All-pro makes two nice rear leaf packs. One is simply for 3" lift, and the other is for heavy loads AND 3" lift. You just have to decide which works best for your needs/application. Price is fair as well. If you need a custom leaf pack, the Alcans can't be beat in my opinion. They'll make them any way you want:thumbsup:.

You need to rethink that statement. When I bought my Tacoma TRD new in 1998, I noticed the reversed arch immediately. I also noticed the same reversed arch on every other new Tacoma that I looked at (and I looked at a lot of them all over the state). Every single one of them had reversed arches. So I guess that "...pretty much just means that your leaf springs are worn out..." just doesn't ring true, or that the Toyota engineers who designed the truck (and who designed it a helluva lot better than any cheap-ass American truck at the time) must not have known what they were doing.

And BTW, my leaf springs are still reversed, and the ride height at the rear is the same as when I bought the truck.

Agreed, every stock Tacoma I've looked at looks the same. Hell, I put on General Spring HD's a few weeks ago and they are flat brand new.

not sure where you bought your trucks from but none of the trucks I looked at "new" had negative arched leaf springs. mine didn't flatten out until a few years after I'd owned it and was carrying crap in the bed.

the ride will still be "ok" but will take less to hit the overload going over a bump or bouncy road
