I have only had the AC recharged once, thank goodness there were no leaks and everything else was good! I usually only have the AC on the highway, stop and go driving I usually just sweat it out :crapstorm:

Potentiometer has gone bad, or maybe a cold solder joint. Get a new control panel for about $100 off eBay. You’ll have the electronic one used in 2001-2004 Tacoma and most 3rd Gen 4Runners.

I love the center vents on mine with the cupholders up there, the cold A/C keeps them mega 24oz monster drinks ICE COLD,
what would I do if I didn't have a pre-98 model o_O with no front and center cup holders, just have to make sure drinks are covered if they are not half empty due to slopping out over the bumps

Ah 4Runner column cover swap? Shouldn’t be that hard. The proper way is to swap all the 4Runner HVAC tubes, the ghetto way is dryer tube.

The one on my 4Runner was just the vent screwed to the duct that had an opening cut open with a knife.

Is it that easy? I’m going to go steal a 4Runner column cover and an HVAC duct and try it

That lower cover doesnt have the ebrake in the same spot as the taco. That may give you problems. Or just slice the taco one open.

We rented a JKU in Florida, it's really cheap feeling. To the point where the plastic trim has so much molding slag hanging off. The ride is awful as well, it just feels loose and wobbly, how it is even an option for people as a daily driver anymore I dunno cause it feels like there is no insulation anywhere, just plastic and tin.

You'll probably be more useful if you take a 20-30min nap than if you get uncomfortably awake/sleepy with 5hr energy... just from someone who's written many essays

Good strong cup of coffee after you wake up again is always nice but not necessarily required
