And in other news, upgrading post Y pipe to 2.5" exhaust and replacing the muffler to a different brand on Friday. I can't wait for the new sound and potential power gains.

Yes but the problem with E85 is that at any given fill up there can be an inconsistency in the fuel. So if the fuel is E50 or E60 and you are tuned for E85 specifically you can potentially grenade a motor.

I have actually read tons of stories regarding grenades motors due to poor E85 fuel quality.

 

Yikes. I'll stick with premium and meth. Sounds safer. Ups just dropped off the shroud. Damn, box is big enough for me to fit in. Some mammal in shipping isnt so bright.

 

Yeah, that is actually what ultimately turned me away from E85, as I had intentions of wanting to have the ability to run dual switching tunes which I could either change or automatically detect on the fly. Not worth it as much boost as we are pushing now. I'll rather stick to tried and true standard octane fuels. Sometimes less is more.

 

For a full s/c rebuild I'm going to have a shop do mine. Do I just need to have a stock intake plenum so I can still drive it?

 

Yes you would, but honestly a full rebuild would just take a few hours. So why would you revert back to NA temporarily?

 

So I could ship it away to be ported as well.

 

Not sure if any Seattle shops could do that correctly.

I don't see a necessary need in doing so as Eaton has proven their Gen 5 roots blowers to have maximum airflow from the gate.

Now the OE lower intake plenum... hell yeah, that could use work for sure.

It was a ways back in my methanol thread someone with a first gen had his s/c ported with great results. Maybe I'll call them and see if its fact or fiction for us.

 

If you got the URD upgrade kit then yes, thats all you need

 

The only thing I had done to my supercharger in Seattle was a recoat with cerakote.

All porting my guy had outsourced to other shops. One in CA and the other was steigemeier.

 

I was gonna say, Steigemeier wouldn't be in business if Eaton ported their blowers for perfect airflow.

 

Also, might have to make the kids move into the living room and blow out their rooms to make a 2 story garage so I can get a lift in here. Amazing the shit you notice when a car's on a lift. Noticed my brand new blower belt had a small fray on it, looked around, saw belt had popped one rib over on one of the pulleys, must have been slowly grinding on that side.

TLDR I need a truck lift in my garage.
