Honestly considering the part that you are torquing, I would buy a new torque wrench from Amazon if you think your torque wrench isn't working properly... They click pretty loud I can't imagine not hearing it if it did click

I lower the spec and i hear it click. So im assuming its working but as i put it to 81ft i keep torquing and haven’t heard it yet. Im just a bit paranoid that i might be overtighten the bolt. Ive only did one side so far, so I tighten it to the same thread as the other just in case.

    ^this

I bought a harbor freight torque wrench and it worked fine a few times. Then I snapped a grade 8 bolt on my sliders torquing at 80ft/lbs. Grade 8 shouldn’t snap with 80 ft/lbs...

That’s sucked since it was the last bolt of the day to attach them, so I had to completely take one side off go get a bolt and do it again. That really sucked

Then I bought a 150 ft/lb Tekton torque wrench on Amazon for like $40. Much happier now since it clicks with confidence every time

A little tighter is better than a little loose. You need a new wrench if it won’t click.
