Are you running the set up you told me to go with? What size tires ? Did you notice a height difference?

I’m running 265/70/17. I plan on going up to 285/70/17 when these tires need changing. I already did my cab mount chop for them. My build page is the link in my signature if you want more info

Stay under 2.5 inches or you will need uca's.I went about 2.5 with a cmc and trim and spent the $$ for the uca's as I had problems with 3" on my 05 and the angles.Bilstiens is a good way to go ar 2-2.5 and a cmc.Watch the classifieds here and you can find some good deals on new stuff.I went with fox as that is what I found seals on.It all adds up!
    Good luck

That's where I'm at. 2017 truck, 18 months in and I'm still doing a lot of passive research before jumping in because I work hard for my money and don't really feel like lighting piles of it on fire.

That’s why I went with the buy once, cry once method. Just go for the home run on the first shot. Saves more money in the long run

Wow! How many times did Ray have to answer the same questions before someone finally got it? Why do you want a lift? How high? Good grief. Ray answered those questions in his first two or three posts. Fuck'n A
Ray, for staters, check out the headstrong & toytec websites. They list complete lift packages for our tacomas. From spacer/block lifts to the very expensive suspension lifts.

    But read this thread first.

Not sure if asking to much but I checked Billstein site and can’t find a 2.5 lift for the 2019 unless I’m blind, can you send me link? All I’m seeing is 2 inch

I have a second Gen but I have also had both lift options mentioned to you so far. I started with the lift recomendations from my local 4wd shop, before I found TW, and installed a Rough Country 3/2 lift leveling kit. All my previous experience was with straight axel trucks so this IFS stuff was all new to me. It was a 3" spacer lift in the front and a 2" block in the rear. It did as advertised and I was able to fit 17x9 wheels with 285/70's with only minimal trimming of plastics. On road it handled and road ok but a bit more harsh than stock due to the block in the rear and the preload put on the front struts with the spacers. It wasn't bad though. Then i found Tw and a desire to do some light off roading and started to learn about the suspension system in these trucks. My initial compromise worked fine. I removed the Rough country kit and installed Bilstein 5100's with Eibach coils in the front and a 3 leaf add-a-leaf in the rear with extended shocks. I took it in for an alignment and had the castor moved as far forward( just over +2 with stock UCA's) and the 285's worked great and the ride was greatly improved.

You want your truck to have the look, fit larger tires, and yet ride good without getting out of hand with the expenses, I get it. with most folks on here it seemes it's one way or another with no happy medium. You can contact marie at Headstrong she has helped many here. IMHO look at them for Bilstein 5100's with Old Man Emu coils in the front I believe for a third gen you want 888 coils for a 3" lift and a really nice ride with the 5100's left on the bottom clip I believe you can order this preassembled from Headstrong for 450-500$. When you have your alignment done ask for at least a +2 castor setting this will help with tire clearance but also help stabalize steering. 2.5"- 3" lift at the most is what you want and it doesn't overstress your CV angles. For the rear consider a 3 leaf AAL they ride well and add some good increase in handling weight if you haul or tow. The overload from the stock pack can be retained or left out it is optional. The AAL is around $160 through Wheelers and add a set of Bitstein 5125's for another $140. This will get you the lift you want and a nice ride.

Wheels and tires are a whole different ball game as you and only you can figure out what wheels you want. If you'd like to put on the 285's you may or may not need a cmc so much of that is dependant on different variables like wheel width, wheel offset and back spacing, and what design tire you want. If you want a aggressive tire the extra lug depth and agressive sidewalls can also affect how they clear. Good luck OP as you can see there are plenty of opinions on here everybody has a right to one. I don't really have one n this it just boils down to what you want I can only tell you what I know and have experience with yet remember this has been with a 2nd gen

This is absolutely perfect. This is the exact coil recommendation. @Terrellb123 get a hold of headstrong and they will present your fronts for 2.5in of lift. So it’s comes out the box and goes on.

Simple and effective. Go with this:

    https://supremesuspensions.com/coll...-bar-extension-4wd-4x4?variant=21410647212112

This gives 2.5 in the front, 2 in the rear. Diff drop, skid plate drop, and sway bar relocate all included for for $185.00. Put it on yourself (there's a video on here that shows the easiest way). I have put this same kit on an FJ cruiser (rear had coil springs so a little different), and a 4 runner (again coil) I have this on my 2016 for 30,000 miles and have never had one issue. No UCAs to deal with plus you get a free alignment from Toyota on a new vehicle anyway so that costs nothing. You said you are not off-roading so this is fine. I have off-roaded with mine and no issues. Ride is close to the same and I have had no problems. No cab mount chop either.

First picture shows truck with 285-70-17 tires (+10 offset) with small rub on the mudguards. i just took them off.
Second picture shows truck with 285-75-16 (-10 offset) with no rub at all.

No UCA rub, no cab mount rub, etc. The rear end is 1 inch higher stock. This leaves me at 1/2inch higher. Your choice but this worked for me on three vehicles now with no bushing, chop, rub, cvjoint issues etc. Put on, align and drive.

The 5100 is just a shock/ strut and it has 4 adjustable clip settings on it 0, .85, 1.75, and 2.5. You want the 5100's assembled with the adjustment clip in the "0" notch and then the appropriate OME coil to achieve 2.5" of lift It should be either an 888 or 887 Marie will know. When they are ordered assembled it also gets you new top hats, bushings, and hardware so you're not just paying for labor. If she thinks appropriate she can also give you a top hat spacer for the drivers side to help eliminate any lean Tacomas tend to lean to the driver's side. This is all easy to assemble inti the truck especially if you order preassembled. You may be lucky and find a local member willing to help who has done it before.
I prefer the 3 leaf progressive aal for the rear as the singles tend to "flatten out" over about a year. They are around $160 from Wheelers off road however Headstrong sells them also. Make sure she matches the Bilstein 5125's to the 3 leaf aal as they come in like 4 different lengths. If you think about doing any off roading this combo will work well also but for cheap insurance I might would go ahead and get a set of +4 extended rear brake lines. Maybe $50 IDk I haven't bought any in a while.

@HeadStrong Off-Road Hey Marie can this gentleman get a package deal on this setup?

Sounds like that might be just exactly what you want. It's whatever works for you and your needs really. I only presented you with an option which is what you asked for. perhaps this gentlemans setup is more in line with your likings and budget :notsure: anyway I hope you get what makes you happy that is all that matters
