I'm actually excited about a 17" te37x. I'm willing to wait 2nd batch for those. I will need new tires at the end of this year for sure, & those wheels would be a perfect match. Thanks for the update man.

Does that mean the wheels will be cheaper now that they are changing the plans? The 37x is 58,000 yen msrp and the large pcd is 77,000 yen msrp. Almost $200 usd difference per rim. I know they are a 16x8 vs a 18x8 but if I look at your original quote for msrp on the first page your saying they will be msrp of $2880 for all four, $720 usd or 80,000 yen per rim, above the asking price for even the 18x8. It seems we are paying full price if not an inflated price now for the rim they chose to go with. Just doesn’t seem like we are getting the deal you were talking about when we first signed up for this thing. Am I looking at this wrong?

You should look at your invoice. What he quoted us isn’t $2880. That’s after he found out the price adjustment. The 18’s that everyone normally sells/buys are the 18x9 0 offset which are usually around $825 which equates to $3300/set

    That’s interesting, I didn’t expect a design change.

Me either. Not sure how I feel about the flat face, but will wait to see before judging.

@ShowstoppersUSA : can we still change colors when the design is finalized? After about 1.5 years , my preference has changed a bit

I know what we are paying from the original invoice but that was for a different design that costs more. I was asking if my thoughts were wrong thinking it might cost less. According to Volk homepage the 18x9 should cost 79000 yen or 711 usd per rim not 91000 yen or 825 usd.

People pay $700/wheel for TE37 for cars for 17” wheels. Nothing new maybe you’re just new to the Volks scene. That’s MSRP if you live in Japan. Still need to get the wheels to the US. What am I missing here? Let me know if you can find a retailer here selling 18x9 for the price you’re saying and I’ll gladly buy from them. If you’re worried about price than quality you can always buy Level 8 wheels.

Edit: Since you live in Beaverton go to REV Motorsports in Aloha and get a price quote and tell me what they tell you. They’re the only Volks dealer in our area. Let me know when you go so I’ll go there with you and laugh at your face. I’m free tomorrow and Friday if you want to go :boink: Otherwise sit in the back seat and STFU!

$2500 for 17” Volk TEs is still a good priced shipped, IMO. I see what you’re saying about 18” vs 17”s but since these are a little different, ( x vs large PCD), the little bit of pricing model should be fine. If you want some 18x9..let me know, I can get you a couple vendors who offered me great pricing on mine. I payed around $711 per rim/shipped to WA state. With enough research, you shouldn’t have to pay MSRP for wheels.

I've been wondering, how did Volk manage to get the 18" large pcd wheel in the market & receive a positive strength test but cant do the same for 17" wheels?
