Wrong it was Carter cooking something and Dave and I were talking near his book reading pavilion.

Trust me my brain is not rotted from crappy moonshine and a fire side fist fight with a Floridian! :D

My brain may stay rotten but I believe this was from the 2nd trip you came down for and I had not had any shine nor was the Floridian there. We were sitting around the fire wondering if we had enough wood left.

Of course it is when you compare to retail pricing. But someone is still paying $20k+ for a toy? I'd buy a SxS if I was looking to spend $20k on a toy

I feel ya, if I was wanting to get a turn key rock crawler, that one would be a good option...

I sold my old 87 4runner that I built for $14.5K. Had allpro SAS and rear kit, both leaf springs, FJ80 Elocker HP front, 1st gen taco Elocker rear, 5.29s, Brand new w56b trans, brand new Dual case 2.28/4.7 set up, custom balanced front and rear drive shafts, Immaculate interior and original paint. Mini trucks are getting pricey when built right.

My truck is a mall crawler compared to that orange 4runner

The 80 was pretty sweet. Miss the 4runner more than that one though. I think the problem was having to DD them. Maybe some day I can get an old beat up mini truck

I took out a custom rider with my auto insurance and now I can't use their website at all. Worth it? Unclear. I have to call them for literally anything, but if some idiot T-bones my truck I'll get some extra cash for the mods.

Your 4Runner is a nice truck that could be driven on the road by somebody that was not a hardcore rock crawler, that has real value in the resale market by opening up your pool of buyers.

That orange 4Runner has very very narrow market as a hardcore rock crawler that can't be driven on the street as it sits. The sum of the parts may be around $23k total...so if you wanted a dedicated crawler and have $23k in your pocket, and decided your jumping all in on your rock crawling hobby, and wanted to save your labor, its a deal. Most people aren't spending that kind of cash all at once on a built crawler rig...they either are mid project on their own truck, enjoy the building process at that level, or like most here...just don't have $23k burning a hole in the checking account.

Oh dude, im right there with you. I dont have 23K burning a hole anywhere in my life hahaha. You are right about my 4 runner. It sold in 2 days. Guy came down from illinois the day after we talked on the phone to memphis with $14.5K in cash and met me on my lunch break.

My 80 series sold in 30 minutes.

Shame the 4Runner ended up in this hell hole of a state!

It seems like the top of the market on non-cream puff crawler trucks like your 4Runner is about $10-15k...probably because of the cash crunch that comes with buying something the bank won't finance. It's not like the $99/mo payment for 72 months that every side by side owner seems to rely on.
