Exploring other options for my next bike. Probably will sell my current 2019 Slim around 1 year from now.

    Needs to be:
    Less than $10k used
    Japanese or Italian
    Have aftermarket support
    Good for city/short range

    Thinking about:
    Ducati Scrambler
    Triumph Street Triple
    Honda CB1100
    Kawi Z800
    Triumph Tiger 800
    DRZ SM

    Thoughts? @AR15xAR10

I have a DRZ-SM and while it is still fun to ride it is in serious need of more power. If you want to go motard, there are a lot of super cool options in that price range. I also have a Triumph Speed Triple 1050 and I love those 3 cylinder motors. They sound amazing and you get the V-twin torque with more of an inline rev range.

Nice list there - I'd go with any of those except maybe the Kawi, I'm sure it's a great bike but don't like the styling. How about an FZ-09?

I've always been a fan of the scrambler platform. If you get a chance to test ride the Duc, you might fall in love. That being said, have you looked at or considered the BMW R nine T scrambler? Might be right over your budget, but worth a look, IMO.

    Lol shots fired

Gotcha, makes sense to try something new then. I've wanted a supermoto for the longest time, that would be my choice personally since I already have a sportbike and cruiser. Remember you can never have too many motorcycles!

I had that bike for 4 years/14k miles. It was fun, but I don't keep stuff until its dead. I sold it for $5500 in February. Not bad

Nice! I've got almost the exact same exhaust on my 2002 1200S - DK HiFlo Outlaw with SEIIs.

These are fun bikes to tinker with. @fatfurious2 fabbed me a speedo/tach relocate bracket the other night but we couldn't finish the job because the stock wires were too short. I will get some pictures up once I get it all back buttoned up. Although, I will admit it was fun riding home from his house without a speedo or tach.

"Do you know how fast you were going, son?"

    "Actually officer..."

Nice! My '99 1200C doesn't have a tach. I can hear and feel the RPMs under my ass with the rigid mounted motor lol. It just has the speedo which I honestly don't even look at that often. Why relocate?

Rigid mount Sporties: the last of the true Milwaukee Vibrators.

The speedo and tach are separate gauges and in my opinion looked out of place with taller handlebars - like big googly eyes. Plus, as you said, I hardly ever look at either of them so moving them wasn't a big deal and a sacrifice worth making as it really cleaned up the front of the bike. I could have ditched the tach but not many Sportsters came with them so I thought it would be cool to keep it. Might change my mind later, though.
