Funny, was just there again last week. Talking to the ranger who visited us he mentioned guys dragging trailers through the Maze recently.

Oh cool. Looks rather warm. We've had such a cold winter this year just figured it was last summer. What we're the temps at night?

These trailers and vehicles are probably capable enough but it's been an issue people trying to drag them (and sometimes caravans, which have no business trying) are starting to increase damage to the road.

This weekend I noticed more road building and rock stacking is going on compared to the past. Like the stack of rocks at the double dip in one of his first photos this weekend had grown. Some of it is because it's getting dug out and deeper.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xE1KBi0qlfE

It's always been a high clearance road but it has been pretty beat up the last couple of years. Actually most of the trails in southeast Utah have gotten harder in last few years simply from increasing use.

I noticed that as well. Lots of rock stacking, smaller rigs trying to bypass lines and widening the road. It's a huge bummer :(

We had no issues with the trailers. Chose good lines, nice and slow

It’s an amazing place. Definitely getting increased use over the past few years. I went with a friend who was a Ranger in Canyonlands many years ago. We visited with an old coworker that still works there. There’s definitely issues arising from the increased use.

It can be hard to get permits during the busy times. I went Nov 2017 and only saw one other group. We made it out to the Maze Overlook. We did it in my stock 2017 TRDOR Long Bed with no issues. No rock stacking required. The Doll House would definitely required some rock stacking for a stock truck.

The hike down into the Maze was phenomenal and should be done if you go there. Although not for those with a fear of heights. The climb down into the canyon can be intimidating. Of course if you have a fear of heights the drive down the Flint Trail will scare the crap out of you. It’s best not to look at the picture of flipped Jeep Compass on the Flint Trail they have at the visitor center.

Getting a trailer up or down the Flint Trail would not be fun. Did they take the long way around or do the Flint Trail?

I heard rumors that Flint was closed due to rockfall. We came in out of Hite.

Photos are stunning, great looking truck OP. Planning to head out in September, hopefully it's not too busy then.

This was the kick in the ass I needed to finally post pics of my Rock Therapy trip to my build thread which I'll share some of here.

Weather was cold, rainy, and overcast but nevertheless the Maze was beautiful. It's going to take a few more trips over the next few years to see it all.

Awesome pictures and rigs @monkeyevil ! I am heading out to Dollhouse and Panorama point next weekend. Was planning on going through Poison Spring Canyon like @m3bassman did last year however... I just called Hans Flat and they said that road is no longer maintained and is washed out. Anyone know anything about that? Would rather enter there than through Hite, and I plan to exit through Hans Flat.

Sorry just got back from a trip and trying to catch up. Hans Flat is washed out to my knowledge, but you could always take the chance and go exploring :D
