So far the fill is half the cost of the replacement. Might as well just replace it at this point, oh well.

Don't think that's it either but thank you for the effort. I might honestly not run into him again as there is about a 13 minute window on my commute.

Well it may be the truck but it may not be the company.

yes that's how it goes with Safelite they will fill it at a lesser cost than replacement but wont guarantee the fill job will work 100%, roll the dice, or try filling it yourself with a kit and maybe it will hold up https://youtu.be/YK1kpSZpMPM

I really think you should know that searching for this company has consumed me. And I've spent like 2 hrs searching so far. I hate you btw lol

Sorry! I always appreciate the help, if that means anything. It may not even be something that can be searched since these hauling companies don't "usually" have a color preface or a real logo. Sometimes it just Al from down the street with his own business and the cheapest trucks he can purchase in all colors of the rainbow.

I did email one that is in the are of the incident to see if they happen to recognize the company if it's not them. I am awaiting a response.

Good luck. My windshield on my Subie was broken by something that flew off the lead truck of a Frac rig convoy that was going the opposite direction. I pulled over immediately, got the company name off the door and made a report with WY highway patrol. I emailed the company, the president admitted his convoy was coming home then said they would pay it. The next guy their safety guy emailed me refusing to pay saying that it may have been a rock kicked up off the road, making it a road hazard issue and not their liability. He also implied that I was a con artist and was trying to scam them. I never did find what hit my car, but it sounded metallic and was shiny and dense. It even broke the inner glass layer and tore the rubber layer in the middle Thank god I had glasses on bc I was covered in glass slivers. My guess is a socket blew off the deck. Anyways he's right on the road hazard. Once an object hits the road its not their problem with a few exceptions for large objects or negligence. It it was a gravel truck that had a tarp but wasn't using it you might have a claim IF you have a dash cam video of the accident occurring. otherwise it turns into you word their word.

In my college days, used to drive an asphalt/gravel truck. My uncle, who owned the company, would get very upset if we forgot to unhook our mudflaps after pulling an asphalt spreader or drove with a missing/too short of a mudflap.

I used this argument with a trucking company once that was claiming "act of God" ... after showing a picture of their truck having too short of a mudflap causing the flap to ride up on top of the tire ... they paid ... otherwise, I would have been on my own.

As I mentioned probably 3 times now. The truck was off the roadway in the gravel on a turn and I have the dashcam footage. The only unfortunate thing as that the camera looks ahead and not to the side making it difficult (impossible) to read the side of vehicles.

Well ... good luck ... driving off-road and kicking up debris is not their fault assuming the truck had all the legal mudlfaps, guards, etc. installed. You were too close would be their argument and things happen. Where does it stop? The trucking company could sue the state/city and say this area should have been paved because there was not enough run off ... see where this is going? Negligence can be argued both ways so you fix your stuff and they fix theirs.
