Anything larger in diameter than the tires that were originally installed per your VIN.

Look I'm not Toyota, nor do I have that in writing. However with number of guys saying that the dealer is giving them flak over a grill mod and Toyota has stated that at this time they will not be doing the recall if different parts have been installed involving the grill, suspension (larger tires would fall into this), bull bars, etc. Even if the parts are OE, just not OE to that VIN.

I'm pretty sure federal law doesn't allow them to do this.

I planning on buying a Ranger Lariat with my money once the Taco goes. Hopefully I have enough left over for a mild lift on the Ranger.

I would actually love some detail, got any links?
My understanding is if your brakes go out they can't make you take off your aftermarket mirrors.

This recall is about water entering a radar component housing, your tires shouldn't have a damn thing to do with it.

Yes the dealership has to prove that the aftermarket item caused or is causing an issue with something for them not to warrantee it. But in terms of the sensor being calibrated, a lift or any alterations to the height of the vehicle directly correlates to that sensors line of vision. So after speaking with Toyota, they will replace the seal but they will not calibrate the sensor if your vehicle has been altered in terms of lift, tires, or grill and bumpers.
