    How’s everyone been?

I’ve been insanely busy doing homeowner stuff... not fun.

Girlfriend just bought a cool 07 FJ 6MT that we are rebuilding. Needs a new rear axle crossmember (where the rear UCAs bolt to). And it needs body work.

I like it. I recently drove one of the new Silverados and it feels like a rat rod. The door panels are way too high. My F-150 has much better visibility and that dip is a lot of the reason why.

It might be a policy thing. The places I've gone to so far won't give you 'shots' but they'll give you whatever you want on the rocks...

Yeah, I've been to a couple of bars when I've been out of state that can't do 'shots' but will serve you a whiskey with 1 rock and a spoon to fish it out with

Oh yeah, Pickles pub, that's a staple for us when we go there.

I'm not typically one to order shots anyway, but that seems silly. Live Free or Die!

IIRC it's actually one of Boston's liquor laws that you can only have one drink in front of you at a time. So a lot of bars will serve you a shot, but one per person. Can't do a beer and a shot though.

I have seen this happen at our place since we have a "no shots and kegstands" policy. We are an event venue and not a bar though, and most of the bars are free, which can be a shitshow when you add liquor in there. I only "catch on" when someone who keeps ordering whiskey on the rocks starts showing it. Most times the bartenders catch on first though and give us a heads up

I think in a bar, you should be able to order a shot, that's a basic thing. Also probably huge profit % for the bar on each one.

On the other hand, with everyone suing now-a-days about anything, with bars finding themselves more and more liable, towns are shutting more and more places down over what used to be "small things", makes owners question whether it is worth it on a liability angle.

I don't understand the problem. You hit a deer and it will cheese grater it for you. Less processing time. Function over form.

I think the lower trim levels look better. No chrome. What I really like about it is the new 6.6L gasser. 400 hp 465 tq.

That looks a lot better IMO. I think I like the small chevy emblem in grille, too.

It's funny that the lowest trim level, the work truck, might be the best looking in my opinion.

Yeah, that is a better nose. I'm curious to see what numbers Ford's new 7.3 will make, because the current 6.2 already does 385/430

I like the CHEVROLET grill, and the black looks better than the chrome. I've seen a 1/2 ton ZR2 on the road, near my home. I thought it looked nice.

The pic posted is the first 3/4 - 1 ton, that I've seen.

Honestly I don't think it will be a high power engine. I watched a video with the Ford rep. They said the goal was to have a single engine for fleets, that is simple and affordable. I think it will be less about how much power, and more about how it makes the power. Port injection, cam in block, iron block. Going for simplicity, and reliability, and low end tq.

    Edit, found the video

Yeah, but with GM releasing that 6.6 you know that Ford is going to one-up them with the #'s.

Yep, I can't wait to see what the new 7.3 does. I'm sure it will have similar numbers to the current 6.2 but the difference may be in how it delivers the power. The 7.3 is rumored to be mated to a 10 speed also so that could help keep the engine in a low rpm, narrow power band.
