What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Picked up and installed my skid today from the Toyota 40% off TRD sale last week.

 

how much did they end up costing you, if you don't mind sharing. Also, did they come powder-coated?

 

That explains why I've never seen it, my lane departure warning rides passenger and yells at me if I start to doze off.

Are these TRD skids aluminum or steel?

 

The original/old was 3d printed but I thought the new were molded. If the texture is rough it’s 3d, if smooth- mold. At least what I thought

I couldn’t tell if it was embossed or debossed (if I’m using those terms correctly). So you are saying it’s embossed (raised) rather than “sunken” in?

I’m not sure what you mean by oem hood switch, I didn’t mention it (don’t think that’s a thing for us). I mentioned the 4are hood prop switch though if that’s what you mean?

 

The new molded Gassholes have raised letters. Allowed me to sand them off and go stealth.

Thanks boss, appreciate the feedback. Don’t know why I never looked into them, already have a set of steel skids, was just wondering.

 

picked it up from the dealer had them paintless dent removal a ding in the hood and tailgate, im happy cant even tell they were ever there!

$1250 for headlights?

 

Those with Pro skids and a BPF recovery may need to grind clearance like I did to get swing on the shackle for the BPF .

 

Can you use that BPF bracket as a "true" recovery point or is the payload the same as the hook that comes factory?

 

No grinding or trimming for me. I'm going to use a soft shackle when needed.

You are correct. All new ones have raised letters and are injection molded
