They are in the house. One of the benefits of the bachelor life. However, I don't have a garage or shed either, so nowhere else they could be.

Welp, I used the Snap On ratcheting screwdriver today for the first time, I’d only seen it in videos or online before.

The bit storage in the handle is not my cup of tea, but other than that.. I think it ruined my Milwaukee’s in short order. It’s very, very smooth.. and almost assuredly has a stronger ratcheting system. I’ve had to warranty my Milwaukee’s twice in maybe 14 months.

Not to mention, the infamous Snap On screwdriver handle design is, in fact, amazing.

Definitely ordering one, maybe the stubby as well.

It isn't much and its really not mine technically even though I think I own most of what is in the garage right now...

    IMG_2191.jpg

It does not stay organized since my dad is always getting tools out and not putting them away. I am in process of buying a house right now and my new garage is 22' wide and 23' deep. I got some plans up my sleeve for that garage that I am super stoked on. Even though this toolbox is small it is packed full of tools, most of which I have bought in the last few years. My dad will be glad when I take my Cobra and numerous parts stored in various areas of the garage and tools with me. I'll take more/better pics of the current area I am working with right now tomorrow but this is all I had on my phone

Any of you pro techs able to compare the grips of a hard handle Snap On to a Comfort Grip?

Hard handle is easier to clean. Comfort grips suck to keep clean if you use it a lot. But is nice on the palm

I find the hard handle to be really comfortable and the shape seems to allow a fuckton of grip and torque. It looks like the comfort grip has a totally different shaped handle.

Any thoughts on the two handle shapes? Any sacrifice by going with the comfort grip style handle when it comes to power application?

Dirtiest thing I come into contact with is cooking grease and oil, so cleaning isn’t a total deal breaker or issue. I just loved the hard handle grip when I tried it, but haven’t felt the comfort grip.

I dont feel that the comfort grip decreases or adds any more torque in using it. I own both options and find myself using the hard handle more. I did notice that the comfort grip gets pretty beat up just from setting on the floor and getting tossed around while working. I do like the feel of the comfort grip though and if you're only going to be using it for light duty jobs than you cant go wrong.

    My .02 cents.
    Hard handle.
    It’s a screwdriver.
How long are you using a hand screwdriver?
Comfort grip? Are your palms made of Butter? Run the screw in wipe it off and put it back. If lam screwing that many screws that you need comfort grip, I will will be using a screw gun.

Damn, the design has changed a bit since I got mine like 20 years ago. But I have a slotted driver with that style grip, great ergo.

It felt so nice in my hand. The comfort grip was the way to go.

I got a good deal, too. Ordering the stubby to go with it. :anonymous:

I would not mind a stubby version at all.

Here's an interwebz pic of my older version. The handle has 4 sides rather than 3 like the newer grips, and the direction collar has smaller grip bumps on it. When I first got it, it was hard to change direction without using a second hand until I got it nicely worn in. Especially when oily. The newer direction collar grip on your looks improved.

The current hard handles are the same as that one. The comfort grip is a 3 sided handle. I think the directional collar is still current too, at least in that pic.

My boss has the same hard handle driver, it’s 18 years old. Never been rebuilt.

No, that's a crappy pic. Yours has deeper, wider indents that would fit fingertips better. At least normal finger tips. Mine is just like shallow grooves.

This shaft is electrically insulated composite. Seems to be carbon fiber but not sure, that’s the weave finish, anyway.

He didn’t have the standard shaft on the truck so we made a deal on this one.
