2.7 Tacoma tires

Can I run 265/70/16 E rated tires on a 2.7 Tacoma with out a lot of power loss?

 

The truck is slow as dirt no matter what anyways, unless you throw a supercharger/turbo on it. I run 265 75 16 M/Ts. Its fine around town still "peppy". But highway can be hard to hold speed above say 75 when going up a long grades, but it will still do 85 -90 on the flats if I give it about 100 miles to do so.. All joking aside, you will be fine, you may notice a slight difference IMO.. If you go above 31-32" that's when you really start to drag without proper gearing.

And you run those in a E ?

 

Honestly? Dont. You won’t believe how much fuel you’ll use

 

50lb 265/75 16's here, technically C-range.
There was definitely a loss of power but totally manageable.

 

I have 245/75/16 E rated winters on now. I’m just wondering if there will be much of a difference if I put 265/70/16 E rated because I do a fair bit of driving on dirt roads with lots of sharp rocks.

You feel it, takes a bit more throttle to get it moving, I didn't even consider LT

Why the need for LT?

 

I have the Falkens in 265/75r16

You'll feel it a bit on the low end but overall it didn't affect my driving very much

I run 265/70/16 P load, and as far as the upsize it didn’t make much of a difference at all. Not sure about the extra weight of the E-load. I have to downshift to get any power out of it anyway.
