Ewwww. Kinda ugly in here. I 100% vote for a full title change because I’m scheduled to re-gear to 4.88 at the end of the month and plan to do the OV tune right afterwards and thinking there was a problem was the only reason I clicked this link. On the other hand everything I’ve read about the OVTune (and I’ve read A Ton) has been 100% great it’s in my very near future... mmmmmmm 4.88’s with OVTune......

this can still be a friday thread

    Aww what kind of dogs?

If the weather was anything other than 72 & sunny, it's OVtune's fault.

This is due to a defective part. Toyota has a recall out. I recommend everyone check if their truck is part of this recall, tuned or not.
    Thanks

This afternoon I was heading N on I 35 out of San Antonio at 530 PM in the #1 lane of 3 lanes, bumper to bumper at about 30 mph. The effing dash lit up, a brake override malfunction warning popped up, and it went to limp mode, no throttle response at all. Limped over 2 lanes and made it to an empty lot. Shut the truck off and back on. TRAC light was lit as well as the engine light. Good news, it would run! Got back out on the freeway, poked a few buttons on the old Scangauge and cleared the codes. It had p2119, throttle position out of range or some such wording. Anyway, just another glitch from Toyota attributed to overly complicated systems. I sure miss throttle cables.

Take "OVTune" out of the title. The title is misleading. OP probably leaves it for the clickbait.

Many people are waiting for the next sale or next paycheck or whatever to pick up OVT. Some of those people will use the thread title as "evidence" to justify not purchasing without reading. Shit like that can hurt businesses.

It should read “here’s why you should take your truck in for the Toyota recall”

This is not related to the TSS. Your '17 has the exact same system that glitched on mine today. Still, way too much technology.
