TRD Exhaust Opinion

Hey all, just got my TRD exhaust installed today! So far I'm loving the sound, but I want see what you guys think of the look. I got the chrome one cause I didn't know there was a black option and I found out after the sale (TRD 40% off one). I think it looks pretty good. I have a bit of chrome from the wheel lugs and badge on the side.

I like it, I'm installing a chrome one as well. You've got a lot of black, the chrome complements it in my opinion.

 

I think it looks great! I personally like a little contrast. I’ve got the LB version for mine.

That's what I'm thinking but it seems like a lot of people like to remove all chrome lol

Looks great. I had one for my 2010 and loved it. Now I'm looking for the TRD exhaust with the black tip for my 2017.

 

Somebody is selling one local for $250..only like 3k miles on it but from what I've been hearing on youtube, it sound near identical to the stock OR one.. I'm not sure if it's worth my money. I like how it looks though.

Would you recommend it?

 

I have the black tip TRD Performance Exhuast. I enjoy the sound and the look. No drone and it makes enough of a rumble to please me.

 

Two things.

1. It gets louder over time and will smell like absolute shit as the oils are burned off

2. It sounds 99% the same on YouTube because most of the videos are free revving. There is a pretty substantial difference when the motor is under load between 2k and 4.5k rpms. Around idle and coasting, it’s nearly the same with little to no drone- probably on purpose by Toyota. Interestingly, you can’t hear the exhaust note over the engine when you take it to redline.

 

Yeah it does smell awful and I agree, it sounds so much better when you're actually driving, sounds the same if you're in park and just revving

 

Did you have someone install yours? I'm installing mine this weekend.

 

Installed my mine last Saturday. Liking the sound.

 

Got the black one. Installing it this weekend. If the the sound won't impress me, the quality of the construction definitely does. It looks so much better than a TRD OR exhaust, IMO.

 

Yeah I had someone do it for me, I probably would've done it on my own but I didn't want to damage or scratch it trying to maneuver it under the truck
