    Just came back from his veterinarian. Prognosis = Grim.

    Basically, he has neurological and skeletal issues with his hips and his spine; he cannot stand or walk. Surgery could correct this but it's not a viable option. He has the pancreatitis and the associated lack of appetite. We can't even give him meds because he refuses food. And he also has the Canine Discoid Lupus (Google it) that's been going for for a few years. He his just old and his body has worn out.

    I need to get ahold of my wife and decide on where we go from here.

    I am so sorry Tim. While I have very little compasion for people anymore I love our animals and if I didn't stop myself would have even more. I, sadly, have had to go through similar circumstances with former furry family members and it breaks my heart when it happens. Each time I swear no more just so I don't have to go through the pain again. All of ours are rescues or strays and I always try and convince myself I have given them as much as they have I. My heart hurts for you and him and I hope in some way your pain may be relieved. Sorry
