I thought OME was a "small lift"

    back to bone stock.
do the diff drop..for sure. easy peasy.

and dont worry about the height..if that is right after coming off the jackstands..it is not representative of what it will be. i bet you end up with 3".

It will settle a bit. My buddy and I put an OME 3" lift on his '97 4runner a few months ago and it has settled a little bit.

is that how it looked right after you let it off the jack?
don't forget sitting up in the air your suspension is at full droop and wont sit back at normal ride height until you drive around for a few minutes. the suspension will settle into its new neutral location, then take the measurement.

Here is your problem "Haven't finished the rear end yet"

I'll have the rear end done tomorrow and drive it a bit. We will see how it settles. I'm also bringing it to the shop to get their opinion. I'll be sure to post a finished pic.

Finished... Did a ramp test to see how everything sits. Brake lines are just long enough under full flex.

I agree that the 886 coils must be too stiff. The front suspension barely moved when the rear end was maxed out on the ramp.

This may be a stupid question but I am still learning ...

Everyone says that directly after you install your new suspension you MUST go get an alignment. However, I get the feeling from this thread that within a day or two it will settle (perhaps a bit longer, but the majority of settling will be at the beginning). Would it then make sense to wait a day before getting the alignment done?

Looks like you're having the same problem i did when i had my 5100's installed. I had 4 1/2 inches of lift off of my billies that were only suppose to lift 2.5 because the spring perch was installed upside down..so it might be worth having the shop inspect it again

everything is installed correctly. Nothing is "upside down" or "backwards".
    Its settled a bit.

I am pissed that the shop I purchased the lift from was so convinced that I wouldn't need anything else such as a diff drop, UCAs or extended brake lines. It is obvious to me that after installing the lift that I need all three! CV angles are too much, and alignment is not back to stock. Also under full flex the brake lines are almost getting pinched off.

So my next projects will be Total Chaos UCAs, a diff drop, and some extended brake lines.

    p.s.
the OME lift rides really nice, even though I sold myself short.

I waited about a week to do my alignment. I agree that it seems odd to get an alignment done right away without letting things settle. My alignment is still off however. My caster is close to 0 when it is recommended to be aroung 2.4. That isn't related to the timing of my alignment though.

Diff drop doesnt really do anything for the new tacomas, worked on the previous gen, but for ours, it just rotates it and doesnt do anything

You are correct on the brake lines, the rears are tight at full flex, but I have not pulled one yet, and I "fully" flex her alot. Also, I am still running stock UCA and have not had any issues yet. I think all those fall into the "they are nice if you have the money to spare, but not necessary" catagory
