I have the constant ringing from tinnitus. What's Cool was the results of my hearing exam at the VA and the ear doctor lady showed on a graph of my hearing where the damage occurred. She pointed and said,"yep, there's the explosion." Lol

 

A decade of Rock and Roll, followed by air travel, and a year in a stock car will do the same!

 

We had the M1 in the eighties, so he was probably what we call a tracked vehicle mechanic, today. Most tracked vehicles are loud-ass monsters.

 

The VA’s percentage system is very flawed.

 

I'm yeah it's funny when I go take my physical every year for my CDL and they do the hearing test I never raised my hand on my right side they're just some frequencies I can't hear

 

Yes it is. Joints are based off of range of motion, not pain, certain conditions are capped at certain percentages, sometimes you round up, other times you don't. It's confusing.

Yup. The constant ringing drives me crazy. The hearing loss is so frustrating. I hate having to ask people to repeat themselves so much because everyone sounds like the teacher from Peanuts if they're not in arms reach. Every now and then I get the tinnitus bomb where I can't hear anything but ringing then it kinda slowly fades out. Dunno what that's about. I also have the low frequency thumping. Sounds like car bass but it has no beat or rhythm, that one really drives me nuts. I can tolerate the others but I freaking hate the thumping.

Well, youngsters, no matter how we get there, there it is. And a good, solid "cure" for tinnitus, is actually the hearing aid! That noise is your brain and ear TRYING hard to create what is missing.
Got my aids in my late 50's, and boom - gone! Spent years trying to get dad to do it, because he was not hearing his grandsons talk to him. Took a lot, and he got cheaper, but he finally did - and didn't miss a word anymore.
You do want to hear what your kids say probably? There are a lot more options than even 10 years ago~

Yeah, exactly. Luckily, my dad retired in 08, so he was a huge help

 

I've looked into them. My wife keeps telling me to get them. I found only one I would use. It's pretty cool though, they're invisible in your ear, they amplify the quieter sounds, do not amplify the moderate, and cancel the louder. They're great for shooting. They even have a high end model with Bluetooth so you can jam without ear buds.

 

Saturday morning around 4AM weather is going to be nasty. By 7 we will have low clouds, crap visibility because of mist and likely fog. Rain should Peter out before CnC.

 

I have a buddy that's still active and has the Bluetooth ones. He keeps his phone in his winter Pts and listens to music during formation lol

 

They're also like 5 Grand.
