I hear you... funny story, The first thing I did entering HF was exchanged their discontinued dykes that had a chip taken out on the tip for Quinn dykes, then after buying other items I noticed they charged me for the Quinn dykes that were with the other items, so had to go back to get that taken off. I hope that as HF gets larger with more stores they will think about adding a register that does just returns/exchanges.

I’ve bought a harbor freight Dremel and it died on me the first day I used it.

Their torque wrench slips a lot when you’re pitting a lot of pressure on a bolt so be careful with that.

Their jack and jack stands, I haven’t had an issue with and hopefully I don’t ever have issues with that. Because those could be deadly if they ever fail.

I know they have a lifetime warranty on all their hand tools, which I’ve taken advantage of in the past, so they have that going for them. I always read reviews on their tools I’m interested in buying.

Does anyone else have a "moment of zen" when seeing an HF catalog in the mail or browsing one on the many thrones in your home? :)

Well it happened to me. The roll pin that holds the locking pawl to the handle failed. Yep that would have caused the stand to collapse. Luckily it happened in transport and not in use. While it was apart I looked at the casting of the pawl (zig zag locking part) and it was so bad with its fit it was scary. I reworked the part with a grinder and file to better the tolerances and replaced the roll pin. I then did the same to the other 3 jack stands (big orange ones) and have trusted them ever since. The fundamental construction and casting is fine but the fit was horrible.

There are many places other than HF that operate on the Perma-Sale mentality. It would be nice if those places would just advertise their normal price. For HF, just sending out the coupons with regular prices would get the same amount of traffic, IMHO.

Anyone ever see their 44" wide rolling tool boxes go on sale? I want one but I'm in no rush...
