No each PCM will require a separate license

You don’t need the Stock TRD cal to be on the ECU. HPT will provide you a stock TRD cal of your ECU version when you read the truck the first time. You’ll essentially start with a fresh TRD tune to develop your own tune.

Should not see it since TX obd inspection is generic OBD. The codes will still show in the Toyota protocol though.

    Me too!

    YES!

I've heard (through the grapevine) that there's someone working on changing that!

Awesome, thanks for the response. I just sold a condo I owned today so I'll most likely buy this once I see cash in the ol bank account.

Sounds so worth it for everything. Looking forward to proper pedal response and emissions delete. Any idea if rev hang can be reduced? Does improved throttle response reduce rev hang at all?

Our license is based on the PCM itself, so even if you change PCM in the same vehicle we will consider it new and requires a license

I use a Mac, but I have boot camp installed with Windows 10. HP Tuners works only on Windows. :(

I have exactly that. There are several guys running the APR/URD gears with a stock TRD tune and have been running that for a long time. I think @TRON maybe one of them.

What if you register a N/A cal and update the truck to a TRD cal at the dealer when adding a supercharger? Will the original license remain valid or will you need to purchase 4 more credits at that point?

It’s on their web page somewhere, but it does not have to be a high spec machine.

You will require a new license for the TRD cal

I can confirm that running SAI delete via block off plates and software cleans everything up incredibly. If your ultimate goal is maximum flow then deletion of the SAI system is crucial. It can be a large contributor to unnecessary pinging across the RPM spectrum.

This is very important. Being that all the Taco's after 2007 require expensive dealer only replacements, up to this point us California guys were royally screwed. Not anymore! ;)

It has always made sense to me. There are so many other vehicles out there that run vacuum to the fuel pressure regulator in factory configuration. I never understood why these yahoos at Toyota and TRD decided against doing so being that they had the opportunity to run and calibrate the PCM to compensate for such changes and since they ran the blueprints for getting the blower setup CARB certified.

 this right here. FPR mod will no longer be necessary, but should still be run to maintain a proper safety net in place. Boost referenced fuel pressure is always a good thing with proper ECM management.

That was always my philosophy with any overly rich setup. It worked, and it worked well. Tuning via mechanical manipulation. Since we didn't have such sophisticated tuning software like we do now. Lol.

    In HPTuners I (we) trust!

Not interested in a TRD tune tho. My UCON has been flawless since I’ve had it. Before that I had the apr x1. My ecu has never been flashed to anything and that’s why I was wondering
