I let my dad drive my truck and now it’s making this awful sound.

Do you have uniball UCAs? I would start by lubricating the uniballs on those.

And don't use silicone spray, use a dry lubricant like Tri Flo or WD40 Dry Lubricant (not the regular WD40).

Silicone spray will attract a ton of dirt and grime and make it way worse.

Yeah I regularly use dry Teflon lube on them. I’ll try that, thanks.

Ok it didn’t work. Also just found out it’s only the front left wheel.

I made the mistake of using silicone spray on the spherical bearings in my lower coilovers and it worked well initially, but sealed their fate much faster in the long run because it just gunks up and holds all the dirt/road grime that touches it.

Dry lubricant on the spherical bearings in the lower eyelets of your coilovers might help too, if you have those.

If you have have stock suspension or 5100s, etc, then you won't have those bearings.

No worries, I don't really have a pic but the bearing is at the bottom of the coilover where the bolt goes through. Just push the straw from your dry lubricant into that area and spray away.

Also you might have to drive it a bit after you do this to get the lubricant to work itself into where it needs to be, the sound might not go away instantly

    Great thanks.

Just sprayed some and turned the steering a little and I think it sounds a little better. I’ll drive it later when I sober up.

    lol...

If I drive off later and it’s the floor I’m going to just sell my tacoma. I don’t deserve it.

Few months ago I pulled the transmission plug while changing my oil drunk. Had to tow my truck to Toyota.

I had this exact same sound / Issue all last summer, it drove me nuts!!. I coudnt find the source, when I took it in for an alignment I asked them to check it out because I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. After I got my truck back it hasn't happened since and they said they "didn't find anything" so I am curious as to what fixes this.. I just have a spacer lift no aftermarket UCA ect. When I was trying to listen for it, it sounded like it was coming from the knuckle area, like maybe a dry ball joint?.. I also tried to spray pretty much everything that moves on that front suspension without much luck.. I wish i knew what that shop did because it hasn't returned since..

My sound is coming from the wheels area down low.

I had a similar noise after a wheeling trip. King suspension/Camburg UCAs. I would be parked, turn the wheel left and right and hear a squeak.
I lubed my uniballs with Tri-Flow AND greased my UCA bushings with superlube. I feel like the superlube on the bushings is what stopped the squeak. Make sure you loosing the UCA Bolt before greasing.

I’ve never greased my bushings since they’ve been installed. I’ll try that.
