Navigation While Driving?

Is there a hack...errr “update” to disable the annoying feature that disables inputting addresses into the navigation app while driving?

 

I don't believe so, but I would like to know as well.

 

The whole point is to not be distracted while driving. Pull over and do it, thats how people get killed.

 

The anytime backup harness with the Nav Override add-on will do what you want. There are other products out there as well. You'll need a switch. A single DPDT on-off-on would be able to do both the rear camera and nav override in one switch. You could also use OEM looking switches.

The point is my wife riding shotgun can’t do it. I get it but it’s just annoying.

I use this, it allows it without adding any switches. You activate it by pressing and holding track up or track down on the steering wheel for 3-5 seconds.

You have to put a switch on pin 17 of the 28pin adaptor on the back of the etunes head unit. I bought the anytime backup camera kit before he started adding the navigation override option, but followed this thread for how to do it:

I pretty much only use this override when there's a passenger who can enter stuff into the GPS menu items that are locked out when driving.
