Installed my ACDF on my 3rd gen! It was very easy but took a few hrs. Gonna clean up the wiring a little more tomorrow. Had to ditch the #1 setup bracket because the trans cooler was in the way. Mounted the right two on the stock horn spots then the left two on bolts that were ready there. They sound so good! Glad to have some USA made horns, the stock Indonesian ones look like little toys compared to these.

Receive mine today going to install tomorrow morning I also have the transmission cooler but I might have a workaround so I can still use the set up one bracket I’ll post back tomorrow to see if my theory works

Awesome keep us posted! I was trying to avoid drilling any extra holes. If you have an idea/get it figured out I would love to see. There was another member who bent the right brackets to make them fit over the trans cooler, I may end up trying that out.

@TSki has a pretty slick set up in post #512. I am going mimic this set-up and to try to use the large holes at either end in the core support, with a couple of fender washers, to avoiding drilling any new holes as well. I think someone could use this setup for a 4 horn setup and just use a couple of the existing holes more toward the center of the core support.

I went back to the drawing board and used the setup #1’s bracket. The hood latch assembly was in the way so busted out the dremmel and cut a triangular slit out so it would sit normally. I then bent the right 2 brackets to fit over the trans cooler. I grounded left and right horns separately to existing holes, then used black extreme weather electrical tape to cover up the yellow.

I LOVE these horns. They aren’t too loud to be entirely obnoxious but they are loud enough where if you lay on them when someone pulls an idiotic move they noticeably are like “oh shit”. I went around the block to go test them and funny enough some guy almost pulled out right in front of me while I was making a right turn and he jumped and floored it into reverse.

Since these are so popular and I only have so many sets to sell I can’t reserve you a specific tier. These work on a lottery system, I take your name down on a list and it becomes first come first serve after I announce the time I’ll be sending messages out.

So what I did was run to the Home Depot picked up two packages of those stainless steel spacers (4 total) and two longer M6 bolts ( The nuts that came with the horns will work with the new bolts) as you can see in the photos, I installed the spacers to the two horns closest to the transmission cooler once those are installed I gave a slight bend to the two horn brackets and now there’s plenty of clearance between them and the transmission cooler. The only issue I ran into was after everything was installed the horn worked once and then stopped after looking over everything I have realize that the center bolt that the bracket attaches to on the radiator support was not providing a good enough ground so I took out my Dremel tool and just remove some of the paint and now everything works perfect

    Nice install.

Make sure you use the lock washers I included on the end of those bolts because with vibration and normal driving they will begin to loosen.

I ended up using some thread locker since the bolts were barely long enough

It looks like you put the spacer on in front of the bracket not behind I think that’s why you had to cut the bracket

Yeah, I wanted the bracket to sit snug against the mounting point since the metal is so thin there.

    Hey Tyler,

So, I received my horns - I bench tested all 8 of them. They all work, but there are a couple that sound kinda shitty - not clean at all.

Is it because they’re being bench tested individually??

Are they going to sound nice, in-tune, and loud once they are properly mounted and all fire a the same time??

    Don’t know this kinda set-up that’s why I’m asking.

    Thanks,

    Rick
