I'm wondering, if there was enough interest, if we could get @mesojdm to make us a switch panel for the blank spot in the overhead console? Who else besides me is interested in that spot?

Are the stock axle and u-joints strong enough to handle all the torque going to a single axle?

I think he already makes one.

Trucks with the tech package don’t have that spot free. That’s where the sunroof controls go

That spot is not blank in all the consoles. My sunroof controls are in that spot.

Edit: sorry, I didn't finish reading @Shellshock post

If you are using it off pavement sure.

If you want to lock up and do sweet burnouts on pavement, I want to know where your truck got all it’s power from.

I think this was mentioned earlier. There is probably a bit of caution (and personal responsibility) to be understood, esp in reverse since that is the weak direction for the diff gears?

For the intended usage of low speed control in forward and reverse, there should be no problems just like when we normally operate in 4Lo. In 2Lo, it will be like we have a motor rated at 714hp / 681ft-lb (2.57:1).

If we're getting excitable, half pedal to full revs or full pedal to half revs should be a good rule of thumb?

Right by the 4x4 switch makes the most sense to me, if you've got the room there, since you have to push it and then use that switch to go into 2Lo. But I'm always in favor of more options!

As has been said, enough threads showing twisted front driveshaft, blown front diffs, etc to say it might be safer to use 2lo than 4lo when people are stupid. (Fewer threads of blown rear diffs, rear drive shafts).

All that said, when you use 2lo, I recommend 20% throttle and no forward reverse rapidly... (so just be gentle)

I see you missed the one where the SO blew the rear diff gears through the housing? Ha!

It was another one of those low-traction / my-shit-blowed-up threads.

Right now I have a blank spot (6MT with Prem+Tech, so no ECT button) to put it in, but also considering putting in a Redarc brake controller as well. So if I do both, would have to get a new panel or put one of them elsewhere. Looks like the OEM one is 6 buttons + the 12V power. Does the meso one expand that to 7 buttons + 12V?

Or better yet, 8 spaces and move the 12V over to the side of the center console, near the passenger's left leg somewhere.
