    passed a bad wreck on my drive home. Subaru vs semitruck/"sidedumper". not sure exactly what happened but the back end of the Subie had a 2' deep dent in the middle of the hatchback from the passenger side tire of the semi. And the semi was off the road about 80-100 yards into a field, Subie was still in the norhtbound lane. All airbags deployed in the Subie and no sign of any ambulances so they must have already hauled everyone away. Third vehicle was there too, just collateral damage from not being able to avoid the main collision. Also, 5 lane road, 70mph speed limit and a traffic light where this occurred. I would be interested to know exactly what happened....always thought the 70mph was too much.

    well...70mph with traffic lights every mile or so? lots of truck traffic and inattentive drivers. I wish they'd drop it to maybe 55 max.

    I'm thinking the truck was northbound and the Subie was turning right from the cross street, failed to realize that the "right on red" law actually reads "right on red, after stop, yield to oncoming traffic" and just pulled in front of the truck.
    Intersection in question. But its 5 lanes now, 2 north, 2 south and a center turning. The truck was off the NE, behind the trees and the Subie was still on the road near the turn arrow markingsx.jpg

    Evening everyone, sitting in my recliner trying to stay awake. Good lord I’m getting old, it’s FRIDAY. Wife got a new Subie Crosstrek,kids car is about done,so my daughter got my wife’s old car. Now we don’t have to worry if the kids car would die on the side of the road. Our mechanic was servicing the old Subaru, and he showed my kid how bad it was.     So we went to Texas Roadhouse. 11oz sirloin.

    On the way home we saw a Bald Eagle take off with a squirrel and fly away. Crossed in front of us maybe 100 feet away and no more than 20 feet off the ground....close enough.

    That was about a mile from the house.
