Can someone overlook setup im about to purchase?

I have done a TON of searching for weeks, and figured out so much due to the knowledge many of you have added to this site - thank you! I just want to make sure this would work:

'09 V6 access cab

1. I want approx 2" lift in the front (OME 884) and rear TSB springs done -should this ride level? Will my rear sit too low when loaded up with a canopy, 140 lb aluminum boat, and a bed full of camping gear/beer ?

2. Should the OME 884 get me the 2" lift I need to level out the TSB? I also want to add OME shocks to all 4 corners.

3. What do I specifically complain to the dealer in order to get the rear TSB springs done? Do they investigate, or just take my word? I am still under warranty.

If your truck is a Canadian model it should already have the TSB springs installed from the factory. Only some models purchased in the States have the older 3 leaf packs still installed.

I have an '09 SR5 access cab with an Arrow canopy. The rear springs have 4 leafs and have "MX" painted on them. They seem to be stiffer than the rear springs I had on my '07 offroad- which had the numbers of the 4 leaf TSB springs painted on them. Maybe the weight of the canopy makes it feel that way.

I don't notice much sag from the canopy weight and the truck probably has a slightly higher back end than front. Overall, I like the way it rides and don't feel any need to level it.

here is a photo of my rear springs. "MX" is written on the bottom of the lower spring. from doing a little searching, I believe that I must have the TSB springs. is this correct?

My rear measures at 37 5/16" and my front at 34 5/16". (measuring fender flare at center of wheel)

884 springs in the front should level it out nicely, right? and there is no need for ordering AAL's from toytec? I am adding OME shocks in the front, is it a good idea to do this in the back as well?

 

I do want more than 1.6" of lift though. I am ok if the 884's without spacers give me a bit more than 2", I just want to avoid allignment issues and having to buy uca's for $600.

Lets say the 884's give me just over 2", would the TSB springs keep the back level with the front when the back is under a moderate load? I know no one knows for sure, but your guess is probably better than mine!

Would you compare the TSB springs to a 1.5" AAL?

I got curious about this, so I went and measured my truck. I got 2 1/2" higher on the rear than the front. So, all else being equal, I assume that the canopy causes about an inch of sag in the rear compared to yours.

Now I am wondering if I should level my truck- Help!! my truck spends more than my girlfriend!!!

 

Ucas, I second that. You may get away without them, but the overall driving feel and experience will be way better if you have aftermarket uca's.

To give you some comparison. I have my front lifted 2.25" with Icon coilovers and the 1.5" aal in the back, and I am perfectly level.

I would think that with 2" of lift in the front and the tsb or 1.5 aal in the back with a canopy, your back end would lower then the front of the truck and not look level.

 

I have 3" of rake right now without the canopy installed. So I guess the canopy may lower it to 2.5 inches of rake, but when I have my 150lb jon boat and tons of camping gear in the back, you are probably right canadian boy, I may have a bit of sag if I add 2" to the front.

I didn't know that stock uca's with a 2" lift would effect ride quality. If I need to end up getting after market uca's anyways, then screw the 2" lift, I'd get a full 3".

Are there any decent uca's that will correct allignment that are NOT $600???

 

I have 3" without a canopy, so it probably is causing you .5" sag.

I hear you about the truck spending too much money - my advice would be to stop coming to this damn site. It is going to kill my bank account.
