TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

I'm almost to that point. If it ends up being the diff again, I'm done. I'll move up to a stronger diff and never look back. The fact that my last two were making the same sound right off the bat leads me to believe it was the wheel bearings though. And if its not.....well I've got new wheel bearings on an axle for sale lol!

Slow and steady does not win the race nowadays. They want to go from just met to married in 3 weeks.

 

Other fun fact. I'm not slow or steady. My mods show proof! Spastic and hasty. Getter' right on the 3rd try usually.

Mission today. Instead of the hassle of flipping the heat exchanger I had this welded so I could use less hose and more cooling for my return line since my coolant lines now run passenger side.

And hood struts. Double down.

 

I love those hood struts. Mod list top 10 favorite for sure. Next to heated seats, jfr y-pipe, and headlight mods.

 

All or nothing. However, I did need some rivnuts when the bolts stripped out on the struts.

 

Yeah, I wasnt pleased with how secure those were either. I was going to mask it off and use some polyurethane caulk to glue the mount on too. One of many mod adjustments in the to do category .

 

I'll take a solid hood prop anyday over those hood struts. Not hating on your guys' mods. To each their own, I have just had too many of those miserable struts give up on me and almost drop the hood on my head when working on cars equipped with those.

Come to think of it, I actually have had a few fall on my head before. So angering.

 

I still haven’t installed mine.

 

Step one... extend the backing bolts to fit the flex pod mount.

 

Is that AEM X-series?

 

It is. AFR gauge finally getting installed.

You will also have to trim the pod from craven speed. Thanks whoever told me I would have to do that.

 

Mine are held in by pressure. While not ideal, it'll do for now I guess. I would eventually like to mount it right like you posted, but I don't know where to source the hardware that small.

 

@Gilmorec61 or anyone with gauges... where did you run the ground to?
