All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I did just that with a couple setups I have. I used an electric hoist from Harbor Freight. Attached to the corners of the rack, and up it goes until needed.

Cool! There’s a harbor freight down the road. I’ll be looking into that. Thanks

If you do, make sure you google Harbor Freight Coupon. You can easily find them on their website. 10-20% all the time

Now I have the smaller tent version and it does not stick out over the cab when hoisted so I can jack it up just like normal.

Yes, I looked at the complete hoist systems on Amazon, but the reviews scared me away. The way I built mine the eye bolts go all the way through the attic beams (I also have 4 safety eye lags). I used the Harbor Freight electric hoist that the guys are talking about above
. Works great since I have to mount it by myself and makes it easy to line the bolts up.

Newish to this whole TW. Came from diesels for the past 10 years. My first Tacoma. Very northwest corner of ga. But here’s mine to add to the white Tacoma takeover. Lol361D83BB-11EE-491A-BAE6-587F637226CC.jpg2BC5351B-376B-4B65-B495-1B3A2DF4E387.jpg

Appreciate it. Definitely was a love hate relationship to start with but it’s definitely growing on me. Just got my bedrack for the rtt from avid off-road. Getting them primed and painted this evening. Hopefully will have some new pics of her tomorrow.

Hells yeah, looking sweet. I posted this truck awhile ago, when I found it on CL. Some nice goodies on a clean truck, hard to beat right there.

I completely understand. My wife has a 4runner too. Compared to my 2nd gen tacoma, the 4runner just seems to be built so much better from a quality stand point (just my opinion).

The 4runner definitely rides better and is more comfortable than my Taco IMO. And it still has the 4.0L V6 unlike mine...:( I wish Toyota would have left well enough alone but I'm still happy with it.

Appreciate it buddy. I’m always at the Hiwassee River, Ocoee or Nantahala during the summer kayaking. Any of y’all wanna go up one weekend I’ve got a spare boat with all the goodies and we’ll get you in some whitewater. Oh and Telico.

I am down bro, I used to paddle every thur-mon at the chattooga.
My xbro inlaw was a Pro kayaker for perception. I have done a lot of creek boating all over, I still have my Phat, Whiplash and a couple others.
Good to meet another boater in here.
All my buddies moved away that were paddlers, so I don’t run flood stage anymore, as I got to really know who I am with.

Actually going up to look at a half acre lot on the hiwassee weekend after next. If all goes well may have a spot on the water for some of us to meet up at.

Very cool. It’s beautiful up there. I got a place just north of Asheville, 1 mtn peak N or mtn Mitchell. In the Pisgah Wildlife Refuge.
I hope the your prospect turns out.
