Hey guy so today i was doing my routine oil change on my 2007 tacoma 4.0 trd. I open my oil cap to pour the new oil in i notice the cap was a bit milky like if oil and water was mixing. I double checked everything the oil that i drain was clean no water mixing, my anti freeze was nice in level nothing missing, truck wasnt having over heating issues or engine issues.

Here a little back ground on the truck. I completely rebuild this engine originally had 325,000 miles. So i completely rebuild it new pistons, rings the whole shabang. Took my head to my buddy that has a machine shop completely rebuild my heads pressure test them all good. So the engine only has about 20,000 in it .

Any you guys have or had that issues that help me out can somthing stupid i dont know about. Im more of a 2004 and older toyota expert. Lol

Have any pics? My 4.0 had the same thing happen, but it was only condensation, and was only present during short drives. Still ran perfectly fine. Do you get the same results on a spirited, longer drive?

I imagine long drives because it my commuter car my all around truck. I'd figure its condensation. But thats super odd because never happened before never seen that when i did the previous oil changes.

Yes i will take pictures in a bit

Condensation most likely. Seen it in an other case (non-Taco). Truck sat more than drove. Was ready to tear into it. A friend who just happens to be a highly respected tech, told me to change the oil & run it. Worked, no more milky oil cap.

Looks like typical condensation to me. As long as it’s running fine, I’d keep on keepin on!

That's nothing, on my 2013 I had the whole cap filled with that shit. Just condensation no big deal. You'll be fine.

With the high miles, keep an eye on the build up on the top of the dipstick. Normal condensation though it can become a pain in the ass...

Same. My commute is 4 miles, so my truck just barely gets warmed up by the time I park for the day. I just clean the cap and the fill tube pretty good with rags when I change the oil, and go about my day.
