Excuse my ignorance about car audio, but I have no idea what half the terminology means. What is a component speaker kit? How does it differ from just normal speakers? What speaker sizes are in our extra cabs? I want a quality sounding system without running a separate sub, is that doable? Ive got the head unit figured out, just need advice on speakers. Still undecided on whether or not I want to run a separate amp or not. Mainly listen to 90's hard rock and alt rock.

 

Component has the tweeters separate. Coaxial has the tweeters built Into the main woofer

 

Gotta replace the blower motor. (Ya know. Side gigs)

 

I bought kenwood 6x8 all around and new tweeters. I get good sound quality.

I dont rub any subs though

 

As for speakers you can’t go wrong with pioneer or jbl.. sound treating the doors also makes a big difference in bass and mid bass performance so I high recommend sound deadening the doors and the rear of the cab

 

So no need for a kit with separate tweeters? My truck has tweeters in the doors, should I not replace those? Thinking Rockford Fosgate from Crutchfield.

 

This, the difference I noticed before sound deadener and after was huge. And sounds so much better
