Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
I am thinking just cut these off and MIG it closed in lieu of block off? I don’t have TIG capability. They are off anyway. Doesn’t seem tough to reach just worried about clean and not disrupt flow inside.

Everyone’s out street tuning probably. :( I’ve been checking most of the day for updates.

I’ve got the N/A tune for trucks pretty well dialed.

I have a guy in CO running it and he was quite pleased initially.

Should also note, that the TRD modified tune for 2.5" pulleys is underway. It's not ready for release yet as we're waiting on HPTuners to define a map that is currently unavailable however, we've exploited a "backdoor" to get the fueling we need. @Roostfactor and @loginfailed could speak more on how the truck feels (TRD Modified tune vs UCON).

There are some of us running a 2.5 with fpr and TRD tune. I’m thinking I need a new fuel pump and injectors with no fpr. Haven’t gotten there yet. But I did buy a bumper for my 80...off topic but consistent with my plan.

You can. Of course you would lose the ceramic coating from that area.
You can grind any irregularities from the inside after your done welding.
    Block off is safer though.

I'd leave the FPR mod if you have already done it. It's generally understood that a 1:1 fuel pressure to boost pressure ratio is a good thing. I'm honestly a little surprised that TRD didn't go that route with the installation of the supercharger.

However if you'd like to revert back to the original install method, that can be done too.

My 2¢ is this: If you're running that close to the edge of properly fueling your engine, it's probably wise to upgrade the pump/injectors anyway. Start with the pump.. It's possible your pump is just running out of capacity and cannot keep up with the demand of the injectors causing fuel pressure to drop as Inj. pulse-width and RPM increases.

You are still on stock pump?

Yes the Siemens Deka 61lb injectors are running perfect on the TRD/HPT/@JustDSM/@loginfailed tune!
I have made a few insignificant changes to it like raising my idle to 575rpm instead of 550 (smoother idle and better ac performance).
I am only on my second tune and will pull a log later but OMG I am loving the way the truck is running!
It's a bit hard to compare apples to apples because of the new throttle map (more responsive) but the truck has never run so well!

255? You just need injectors and adapters.

Below is actual footage of me testing out some new adjustments after getting setup on HP Tuner. Huge thanks to @JustDSM , @Roostfactor , and @loginfailed for the ground breaking discoveries. Simple thus far but oh so much better. Ok, so maybe it was Rob Millen doing the testing, but my truck

So is there any benefit getting one of these on a bone stock 1GRFE? This thread seems to cover the sai subject but I don't see anyone talking about what kind of HP or driveability or mpg gains you can possibly get out of this tuner

For a stock truck the WOT power gains are there.. I'll be on the dyno with my truck within the next week or so assuming scheduling works. But the biggest difference is actually where you drive it day-to-day without hammering on it. The part throttle smoothness and drivability is drastically enhanced with proper mapping. It transforms the truck much like the review above. I can assure you, it's well worth the entry cost even on a stock truck. The flash alone will do more than just about all other bolt ons (N/A) combined with probably headers being the exception.

    You're welcome, BRO.

Any truck has tuneability in it. Engineers try to keep the truck as reliable as possible, even at the cost of power or MPG. Also, you can't really have both. You either get more power, or you get better MPGs. You could argue you can get both, but at that point you're probably not N/A or stock anymore by changing the tune.
