    I agree with the reliability part but not the rest of it.
    First off I can now finally say from experience that the original TRD tune was far from perfect, even for a stock truck! Yes Toyota richened the crap out of the tune for exactly the reason you stated "reliability at the cost of performance" but, it was by no means perfect. Not even close! @JustDSM could elaborate more on this because he is "NEO" but basically Toyota went way too far to save the reliability so by returning the engine parameters closer to optimal will increase power, economy, and most likely engine life because cylinder lubrication isn't being washed with excess fuel.
    Besides that, there is the variable cam timing which has (in testing infancy) shown serious promise for our future!

    TLDR: The engine can make more power, be just as reliable if not more, and be more efficient (better fuel economy) all at the same time! That is what you pay for when you want an extremely refined tune! one that maximizes EVERY available parameter. This is extremely time consuming and requires serious understanding of how to interpret and manipulate data as well as extreme understanding of engine fundamental operation.

    Agreed. This is a temp setup to test and calibrate this intake so we don't have to recalibrate for it later.
    If you are new here you haven't seen what my plan with this intake is.
    I am going to relocate my battery to the passenger side, cut off the supercharger intake at the 180 degree elbow, move the throttle body (it will be near the brake booster), route new intake where filter is behind front headlight, and build enclosure for new intake location for cold air supply.
    My theory is for those of us really pushing the sc, that we are starving the sc of air at higher air loads so I am going to remove that restriction.

    I've had a design I've been meaning to try at some point...Take the URD intake, cut the elbow turning towards the front of the truck to make it a Y, add a snorkel to it, put an inline filter under the fender maybe, that way cold air from in front of truck and ram air would both come in. Add an exhaust type cutout to the front section for any sort of water crossings/high dust areas. Had a bunch of aluminum parts saved for a while to try it, but never got around to it.
