Yes 210k miles. First change. Started to get a miss at idle that investor cleaner didn't clean up.
I used some 3/8 hose to fish the plugs out. My old socket won't grab the plug. Front drivers plug is the worst to get out with my big hands. The rest were easy to do .

Will change them again at 400k. Now to check MPG again .was getting 420 miles per tank but it dropped down to 360.

If you are gunna wait that long between changes (I personally wouldn’t).
I would at least annually take them out and reinstall them. As to prevent them from becoming one with the engine. If you’ve ever come across a plug that has corroded itself to the engine you’d know it’s a very bad day.

jezus christ... WHY... WHY WOULD YOU EVER LET THEM GO THAT LONG. Those gaps are HUGE which will kill coil packs, not to mention corrosion which you are lucky didnt cause you to pull threads out of the head.

Agreed with Toy4me... id never buy a used anything from you if you are going to tread it like that.... its not like plugs are expensive....

210 thousand miles might be a little excessive but 30k plug changes is too. I just clean re gap the plugs and reinstall. Should get at least 60k out of a set.

How about you change them at 30k intervals like the well educated engineers recommend and you stop acting like it makes you a BA for not following the rules?

He'll just replace them at the 1,000,000m oil and air filter change.

While I kind of agree, they're cheap enough and I"ve seen enough wear at 30k that if I'm going in I'm changing them. Just can't see going through checking them and saying to myself I'll give them another 10k to keep $30 in my pocket now. My time is too valuable.

Leave the guy alone, it’s his truck let him do as he pleases. I bet some of you would be surprised how many people wait this long or even longer to change plugs, or oil, or diff fluids, or serpentine belt or....

I'd always worry about the spark plug gap getting that big, and putting a huge strain on the coils. Plugs are cheaper coil packs.

But that's just my thought on this.

They are seriously worn out you have been wasting fuel for thousands of mile probably overheating your cats polluting my air diluting your oil over working the ign. coils but sure it probably saved you a hundred bucks.

How many miles did the truck have on it when you bought it? I changed the plugs on my old rig the week I bought it with 150k on the engine, and they were the original as well.

I appreciate this thread because it’s encouraged me to change the spark plugs at the upcoming 45K oil change I will be doing. I assume they’re original, I bought the truck from a dealership with 32K and have to assume the plugs are originals.

Removing plugs to clean and check spacing is crazy to me when they are so cheap to replace and time-consuming to get to. From what I see on youTube the one side is a real PITA to get to.

It's the drivers' side that's the challanging side, but really it's not to bad, the back plug being the hardest. There's a vacuume hose to move out of the way and a small bracket to remove. Once you do it you'll be ready for it the rest of the time you have the truck.

Looking forward to the challenge, always fun to try something new, as long as I don’t fuck it up.

Not a single plug is difficult to remove from this engine, if you want annoying try a v6 front wheel drive where you have to remove the intake manifold to access the rear bank of plugs.
