A little something every chance we get.
It's improving, but then they finally got some of that truck traffic they always wanted, even at low rates! So, some areas being done for the second time! It's annoying, but indicative of "low bid" work! I like the road, I use it, it's much better for me than 35 for almost everything. And, I for one, appreciate more trucks on it, because it makes 35 better for others - not much, I know, but still!

Never travelled the roads of West Canada, only the East. Always arrived at some airport and "got there". East wasn't bad, growing up in Michigan, I thought most were pretty well cared for. But I get "detained" when I go to Canada, so I avoid it! The 130 stretch we are discussing around my home is kind of like driving on I-10 from Texas border to New Orleans - bridge over the bayou most of the way. You swear you are riding a horse.

Sorry to disagree sir, the MUTCD is the federal book, the Texas book by law must mirror the federal law, in said book it does control enforcement, the 5 mph buffer is provided due to every public road requiring a traffic survey performed every 5 years ( unless authorized in writing and amended to the state book by the DOT)
It states specifically that the posted speed must be within 5 mph of the 85th% percentile and any speed higher or lower than the given 5 mph must have a separate survey done and describe the reason for a speed that changes from the “norm”.

Now, according to 9th district court, in the case of Anthony Defore vs the state of CA
If there is no survey the police can not enforce. The two are mutual.

Either way.... 90 on a dry 80-85 road is not reckless. I know reckless..... back in the day..

NOT starting an argument, I just have a very good background in traffic court.......

Used MUTCD many times to prove enforcement.

What this was was a WTF about doing 90 in Texas where most do that even in a 70 and the wtf in the “code”

    Just makes no sense....

Sir, I will once again respectfully disagree with what you are reading into the rule. It provides ONLY that buffer exists in setting speed limits.
    https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...epoct/02.cfm&usg=AOvVaw0kpYwa7wG-nNikKkGrJUB9

If you have this much experience in arguing said case, it might be due to exceeding posted limits. I doubt the CA case holds much precedence anywhere.

The original caution to our friend came from a "headline" post in TW which isn't anymore because it was not new any more, and a Mod cautioned the OP that his mentioned speeds on public roads were in violation of "excess speeds" referenced in the code of conduct, which has since been provided.

These are my final comments in this matter, so take as you will. Regards. :hattip:

Broke down again, it’s funny how two fuses can stop a truck.
