Different cultures , different customs...

Chang beer, again. Nothing new there...I drank lots these past few days.

The ice? That is new.

I'd forgotten. ..in a lot of Asian countries, ice is available, but fidge space is not, so you get a warm beer and a flass of ice

Often as nor, it is as much about local custom as it is cold real estate.

This was from our flight back to Hong Kong this morning (it is ALWAYS five o'clock somewhere! One never lets something as mundane as a time zone get in the way of a cold pint...)

The young lady - the Flight Attendant - was so sweet ànd so intent on making sure that the only Farang on our little aeroplane - and, coincidentally, the only guy drinking beer àt 0900 - was happy with her efforts.....

And yes, ever so very briefly, I indulged in a small bit of fantasy before my ever so practical wife reminded me that some of my underwear was older than this girl...

Sigh.

 

There was a little discussion here recently, so I thought I'd give an update. Common Roots Brewing had a fire a few weeks ago. I think the brewery/taproom is a total loss, so it will take a significant amount of time to rebuild and get back to "normal". In the meantime, they've rented a new space where they're going to be brewing on a three barrel system and have a taproom. With the small system, they probably won't have enough product to distribute, so it will be taproom only for a while.

Morgantown Brewing Company - Blood Orange Milkshake IPA

They have my attention.

 

Pretty stoked on what I picked up today.

 

Always a fan of blood orange, since my first taste of the Italian ice back in the 70s (Anthony Brocatto’s).
I had a Belgian Double that went to @Benny123 , so will have to wait for his report to see how it turned out. I’ll forgive yours for being an IPA... but Milkshake variety was probably pretty tasty and did it justice.

 

It’s pretty smooth. It’s just a little hoppy with some lactose to smooth her out. Has strong vanilla notes too.

A @christyle original. Still undercarbed but I didn’t feel like waiting. Thought it’d make a good grilling beer. It’s light indeed as you say. Pretty drinkable though. Wouldn’t mind a few of these in the summer on the beach

 

I’m in AF for @NoOne ‘s beer offerings from NOLA on that limited shit! And the spurs since I got the darks for days. Gimme dem sours!
