    Morning all:

They want more, good luck! :D

Yesterday was the first day of trout and we made the annual hike up along the Lehigh River. After the heavy rain we had, the river was up and way off color. We only managed 7 trout between us and fishing was super tough! I had 2 trout get off after hooking them, and only maybe 3 other bumps, could have had my limit of 5 but only caught 4. It's very rare that we can't get limits out of there, but we're lucky we got what we got under the circumstances.

Stream fishing opens last weekend in April here.
Caught my first gopher of the year yesterday. It kept tearing up this one area, so finally got tired of it and found a hole large enough that I could poke a trap down. The day before, I had looked at one open hole, so thought I would bait it, so in the time it took me to go pick a bit of onion top, the gopher had come back.

We had some big trees taken down to make room for the garage. Spent a few hours each day yesterday and today cutting up the logs for firewood. Dang I feel OLD right now. Sore everywhere.

Chicagoland is notorious for high gas prices. I think it's a tax thing.
A hangover?:p Seriously, good luck! But still stick a twenty in each shoe so you can be sure to get back to airport. ;)

We were supposed to have storms and actually had an 8 hour tornado watch in the DC area. No storms but it is dark and gloomy out there this morning.

Good morning Carl. Best of luck fishing with you fishing buddies this week.

I took a drive yesterday to W. Kerr Scott Lake to check out the campgrounds. Bandits Roost and Warrior Creek. The first is 'OK' if tenting, the restroom is centrally located, so a ways away. Great for RV campers. Nice no-cost showers.
Warrior Creek opened the next day so I could not check it out.

On the way back I was caught in serious rain on I-40. I saw cars spun out, and I hit a patch of deep water and thought I was next. I got control back but dang I do not like huge shots of adrenaline. I was in the Subaru with same tires as truck. Good choice. Michelin Defender LTX M/S.
Got home and had HARD HARD rain and thunderstorms again. Good to be home.

Happened to check my online banking, tax refund already in just a week, filed electronically by my tax people. Only a fraction of what it was a year ago, no state income tax paid again. Dont know how I avoid paying Kalifornia income tax, must be under a threshold.

I have 10% pulled out of my IRA withdrawal every month. Giving myself a big raise this year with my Annuities and cut back some on the IRA. Make more money than when I worked. Foolish money buys stoves.

Finding the % for taxes on an IRA withdrawal was a hard process for me. I settled in on 20% federal and 10% state which seems to work out OK. In 2 years our first annuity will start to pay out. After the annuity fees we are still averaging a little over 10% growth per year in the annuity per year. I wish we had started an annuity investing program sooner than we did. 15 years ago annuities had such a bad rap sheet. I struggled with investing in them but eventually the realization that I could take taxable money and defer the taxes won out. I know annuities are not for everyone but I bought just as the market was taking off after the 07/08 congress led market crash. We tacked on a guaranteed performance clause which cost an extra 1.5% fee at the time.

Ouch, walk like a old person.
Took this winter off from jogging a few times a week. Paying for it this Spring after starting up again, aches and pains, walk like I hurt. Hiking somewhat off trail yesterday with Repo to camp o/n. Ended up taking the long way as I couldn't find dry ground after finding a small log to cross a creek on. So had to go back across it, ended up loosing my balance and jumping to clear the small log and it's limbs. So, wet shoes, socks, at least I had shorts on. Wet feet, too cool to dry anything o/n, so wet feet again today, temps were only 32 this AM, so my feet weren't stumps while fixing breakfast and packing up. Got home, all gimpy from falling all the log and the hike of course, little under two hours yesterday, little over an hour out this AM. Snow patches on the Forest Service road home. Was trying to avoid them yesterday is why I tried the way I went. Needed some trail time anyway.
Repo had a great time, at camp he found some bones and had a great time working on those and running all around, he had a blast.

    Evening..

    Chili burgers down the hatch.

Just got done doing the alignment on the trailer. Went from about 2° neg camber to 1/2° Neg camber. Allowing for resettlement I figure another 1/2° neg so about 1° After a few trips. So I should be good for another 20 years on that part..

    Actually pretty steady.
People coming out of hibernation and upgrading vehicles and service.
Going to ramp up here in another month with the tourism season starting.
