The concern of any liability the OP might face is solid a solid thing to bring up.

What kind of liability is any mod to the vehicle?? At what point can you say the lift, the oversized tires, the LED headlighs, the added weight of bumpers, or any such thing could be used as a valid issue in any case of liability. We throw all that into the trash when we do cab mount chops and r-gear...but that's the chance we take to make "our" vehicle safe. I for one am super interested in this. I'm pretty confident with as many air bags and seat belts that are designed into crash functionability, that this would be the least of any issue.

Agree that $100 would be a good price point for these. I feel like material wise you’d be cheaper with a high carbon steel than the 7075 and it will have a higher shear strength. You would have to see in the grand scheme which would be more cost effective for production though.

Thanks man, I agree but its still a big concern for any mom/pop operation. We'll probably put a bunch of hold harmless, install at own risk, for offroad use only, and this is only a paperweight and is not to be installed under your tacoma seat to lift it 1-1/4".

Thanks for the suggestion and confirmation on acceptable cost range. My buddy is working up a steel prototype and he will also be testing it on a 2nd gen in the next few days.

I should be posting updated product pics and pricing details later this week. With any luck I'll start a For Sale thread this weekend.

    Thanks,
    Steve

They look great, and as I said in my first post. I'd be interested.

Sometimes people just read what they want, but I will reiterate that part. Good work, wishing all the best.

You should offer them in black! Or at least some shade of black/gray so they blend with the carpet. I have spacers in the rear of my seat and they are this silver color and man, they look so silly and stand out like a sore thumb.

That alone could be worse than nothing. Kinda like the bad dog sign. Now you're saying this could be dangerous. I would get serious legal advice before selling to public. In today's world of endless litigation please be careful.

We were able to test fit the original prototype on a 2nd Gen Tacoma today and the seat brackets/mounts are identical to the 3rd Gens. Not surprising since the cabs structure didn't change and Toyota is notorious for consistency across platforms.

We are working on an updated prototype with a rear centering pin to match factory, increase the amount of material around the front bolt, and painting it black (final product will be powder coated).

7075 Aluminium is aircraft grade and very strong when compared to steel. If we went with steel, the cost would increase by 50% and the improved strength would be negligible. Afterall, these risers mount to stamped steel seat sliders.

So what it's looking like is $100 will get you two 7075 blocks, powder coated black, grade 10.9 hardware, and shipping.

    Rough schedule:
4/23/19 - Updated Prototype - shared for final feedback
4/30/19 - First 20 sets into production and we start taking orders via seperate For Sale thread.
5/20/19 - Start shipping via USPS priority in conus

@olecoot is making/selling seat risers for the back of the seat. You may ask him what steps he's taken regarding litigation.
