Anyone selling / seen a KB Voodoo Taco MAX bed rack for sale? Specifically the 14" High, 46" Long (short bed) variant? Thinking its the one I want, but by the time I add tonneau brackets and shipping Im right at $900 which is a bit steep..

I would seriously consider driving a ways to buy a used one if it saved me some decent money

*I might also consider a long bed variant as well.

    Hey everyone,

Just wanted to put this out as a feeler. I may be looking for a used 4.0 complete engine assembly in the upcoming months, I am starting to suspect some head gasket troubles on my 05 DCSB. Not confirmed just yet, but thought I’d start looking just in case.

If anyone knows of a place in the tri-state area or someone private locally that has a spare engine laying around with less than 150k on it I would definitely love to know! Appreciate any help in finding a motor that potentially doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.

I just checked some local places and Car-Part and they range from $1500-3000!! Hopefully you can find on cheaper from a private sale on CL. I'll keep my eye out.

Shit, if only that camper cap were a shorty.... That would be great for mountain biking trips.

Seems like a really odd choice to pair with a topper lift kit thing. How would you get in and out once the tent is up..

That makes sense. Still kinda odd though

Since he has both the full rear door and the standard rear window I bet he bought the lift and tent pieces before he bought the full door. Then just adapted it. It is odd though.

Yeah not fun but we work on cars at home here so all the work would be done at home. I don’t have any evidence of oil and coolant mixing together or performance issues but I did have some air in my coolant. I bleed the system yesterday so we’ll see if it comes back.

However I’m pretty much prepared to toss a younger motor in here if needed. The truck only had one owner it’s whole life and no body rust or damage aside from a dent on the bed side. So $1500-2000 is a worth while investment for me. Well see what happens lol

Thank you for checking! Yes I’ve been on car part often checking if there’s any good deals. However I’d definitely prefer to buy off the forums if the opportunity presented itself. If you do see anything privately that would be much appreciated! As of right now the truck runs and drives fine no crazy signs of a blown HG but it’s just a suspicion of mine. 05/06 Tacoma’s did have some engines that had failing HG’s but those typically failed before 160/170k mines at 197k and only recent sign in some air in the coolant that I bled yesterday. Also put a new OEM radiator cap on to make sure that had a good seal.

    Otherwise looking good.

im waiting for ups to drop off part of my headstrong offroad purchase today.
they dont recommend 886 with 5100 (reason is on their website somewhere)
given your weight up front you might want to consider starting at 887s, possibly consider 888’s. i ordered 887s and the dakars as i trailer occasionally and i didnt want the front low (rear high).

Yes sir they are 1st gen wheels. I have only ever seen one other 2nd gen with these wheels and I really like them. They are sprayed in black bed liner with spidertrax 1.25” spacers all around. 265/75/16 BFG KO’s on them.

Slightly better picture with a clear view of the wheels and stance all together. 5100’s all around, 885’s up front and a Icon 3-Leaf AAL in the rear.

Anyone local with a 3rd gen short bed looking for a factory cover? I am looking to sell my factory tri fold cover of possibly trade for a roll up cover.
