Now you have a great anecdote for explaining the odds of winning a lottery to people.

I replaced it once only at speedy glass. Great job except they left black silicone spots on both sides of fenders. I asked them to be super careful when removing it because it was almost brand new truck and of course they left small swirl marks from the rags they used. :annoyed:

    It's a secret
Yes, angle of the windshield is a factor along with the other things I mentioned. It's all those little variables working in the perfect combination giving us all grief...:goingcrazy:
It really does seem some of us have a certain amount of luck regarding it though huh? Now if only that luck works in our favor when it comes to the Lottery o_O

I blame it on Colorado. My wife's car windshield looks like it's been ran through a sandblaster.

its amazing that no one has yet developed a windshield defense film or some sort of application to the windshield glass that can defend it against flying rocks, most of the rocks are just grazing shots that develop into cracks over time when water enters in the damaged area

This is true. BUT miles/amount of time driven do expose you to more opportunity for this to happen.

    Bad luck bro

I had a pair of shoes thrown at my windshield while I was on the freeway, my idiot friends thought that was a good idea. Luckily it didn't crack

There is, a bunch of 18 wheelers run them at about $700 a pop installed and are good for about 7 months to a year. (Clearplex)

It's also a very weak version of how bulletproof glass works.

I travel Hwy 17 daily for work to Surrey from Tsawwassen. My hood, a pillar, and oddly enough fuel filler lid are all riddled with chips, and I've already replaced my windshield once, and repaired 1 rock chip. Annoying for sure!!

That sucks man. My hoods fine thank god. Im thinking to install bug deflector. I noticed this paint scratches/chips very easy, unlike my other black vehicles.

You know what, thats a great idea. I heard it helps with mpgs and adds power due to weight reduction.

Thats a great point! I might copy your mod when I get home but I'm gonna get the best set of goggles available. It looks like these will give you an extra 100HP too!
