Exactly why I wanted to see for myself. A fully lit up brake lit versus a half lit up brake light will always be brighter. No matter what bulb you use. So the total tail is an upgrade in every way shape or form. They are def brighter, this vid was purposely shot in direct sun to see what it would look like worse case scenario. I guess a more appropriate video would have been to do a comparison to stock in direct sunlight. Of well...."no regerts"

If one were to upgrade from stage 1 to stage 2, is it just a matter of getting the stage 2 bulbs and its components (harness and adapter)?..........asking for a friend......:anonymous:

But I guess even getting my hands on stage 2 parts is the hard part even if they are compatible.

    Stage 1 = Harness x 2, brake bulbs x 4, switchback reverse/blinker x 2

    Stage 2 = Harness x 2, brake bulbs x 4, switchback reverse/blinker x 2, Triton adapters x 2

So, to go from stage 1 to state 2 you need the S2 harnesses, S2 bulbs, S2 switchbacks, and the adapters. This is the entire state 2 kit since the bulbs, switchbacks, and current harness ends are all different (as I understand it @mesojdm can verify that), and you will need the adapter to use the larger triton switchbacks.

Short answer: No, You can not CONVERT a Stage 1 to Stage 2, they are different hardware.

If you do decide to swap out, I know someone who would take that Stage 1 off your hands...:anonymous:

^^This would be a way to convert S1 to S2.

If you want to switch to stage 1–>2 you have 2 options:
1)purchase Stage 2 Socket adapters, 3 pin triton harness, and switchback bulb itself. You will use the same “T” harness as stage 1(the loom that is wrapped in tape)
You will be left with a useless stage 1 switchback bulb
2)(better way to go) purchase a stage 2 “harness only kit” it will come with everything but a S2 switchback bulb.
Then you can put your old stage 1 bulbs with the harness and resell the whole kit as a whole.

I hope I’m fast enough when they drop, I feel like there’s a 12 second window to snatch a set

So bringing up my past post…

I was showing off today and when I put it in reverse and turned on the signals the signal only flashed amber and the white(reverse light) didn’t switch back on the signal side. When I tested all scenarios this weekend I could of sworn that when in reverse and turn signal was on the white/amber switchback would alternate (just as I put in my previous post/quoted above). It wouldn’t work if the hazards were on.

It’s not a huge deal but like I said it was doing 1 thing over the weekend and now another today so I’m not sure how it’s supposed to work and if I was originally mistaken. Can someone test the stage2 in reverse with the turns on to see if the reverse light goes out on that side or if it does the whole switch back thing?

It will not alternate between White/Amber. It can only handle 1 color at a time before it switches batch to opposite color.
I love locking and unlocking the truck remotely from my minimalist key fob. Now you can really see the turns light up when it locks because the truck uses the turn signals for that function.
