Fox 2.5 way to stiff

I just put some fox 2.5rr Coil-Overs on my 2019 tacoma to replace the 3 inch ready lift spacer because of the harsh ride. I didn’t adjust the fox Coil-Over at all so I should have about a 1 inch lift it says for a 3rd gen. I’m most likely over 3 inches and the ride is terrible. Way worse than the spacer. Not sure what’s going on?

 

Too much coil preload?

 

It shouldn’t be. I see guys cranking them way more than that but who knows maybe I got a heavier coil spring or something?

 

More preload takes the springs and valving out of the comfort zone. How are the measurements versus the rear or stock measurements? Did you do anything in the rear?

 

Measure from centre of hub up to fender, then can figure out lift amount

 

From the center of the hub to the fender in the front I’m at 25 1/4 and the back I have 2 inch block and the measurement is 24 7/8.

 

Looks liked they are cranked down a bit

 

16 threads showing above the collar. Everything I can find says it should only be about a 1 inch lift over stock.

 

Running same rated tires before hand?

 

Yeah they are load range c. Rode a lot better with the ready lift.

 

i had 2.0 coilovers with nothing done in the rear. I was perfectly level. i realize these are 2.5's but the ride on and especially off road was the best I have ever had.....ever! If you have a 2" block in the back and are level then you are literally at 3 inches lifted up front. 2016+ tacomas are 3/4 to 1" low in the front.

 

Yeah there’s something going on here. Every one talks about how great these ride and I’m sure they do just need to figure out why I’m so high.

 

What springs are on them? 600?

 

I also had 255/75/17 tires which is a 32" tire and had zero rubbing issues. So unless you absolutely need the clearance, I would take out the rear blocks and back her down to level

 

These are 285/70/17. I guess I’m going to have to adjust the springs. Just hard to believe I should only have 1 inch of lift right now. I emailed headstrong were I got them from. Hopefully they will have some info of what’s going on here.

 

To be honest I’m not sure but I think they are the 600 pound springs. Whatever comes on headstrong level 3 kit. I didn’t specify anything differt when I ordered them.

 

How many miles have you put on since install? Most springs need to break in some before they settle.

 

Probably only about 20 miles Just to get an alignment. Even the alignment guy said wow she rides like a lumber wagon lol.

 

Go find some place to flex the front end. Try to stuff the tires up in the wheel well.
